Title: Forum Upgrade - Make Sure Your Email Address is Current
Post by: Travis on March 17, 2015, 10:46:48 AM: Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Our current forum runs on SMF software, which isn't very compatible with some other necessary software/services we recently started using. That being said, we'll be migrating to a Xenforo software over the next few weeks.

Although we anticipate everything will go smoothly, we advise you to make sure your email address is up to date, just in case there are any issues when importing your account.

I know, right. Just when I almost had things the way I wanted them. The good news - Xenforo is packed with a lot of cool features.

They are both good products, I participated on XenForo Forums and I ran an IPB forum before.

I just enjoyed the IPB forum more (I think it has better mods) - Either way - both are much better then SMF.

Yeah, I know. My programmer went on vacation for 6 weeks and I hired someone from oDesk to fill in. HUGE mistake! That guy broke everything he touched. :-[

I hear Xenforo is better for SEO as well.

I just want to see you go through the conversion, log all your steps. If it works well for you I might do it.

Xenforo finally released an importer that's in :beta: Works quite well, from what I hear.
