I guess I'm just getting old. What happened to the days where people just picked up the phone and called you? It seems like 8 out of ten people who respond to my Craigslist ads do so by text message.
Do you get more text messages than calls or emails?

I would say over the last year, maybe year and a half the most people have shifted to texting to follow up Craigslist ads. Emails are seldom used, and actual phone calls are about 30%.

Definitely more text messages, some calls and say right in my ads not to bother to email.

I never put my phone number in an ad, initial contact is always through the CL email system. Only after they appear to be a real buyer and they want to meet do I give them my phone number.

I definitely get more emails than anything, but that's because I don't put my phone into the listing. I'm going to start today with my listing refresh, so I'll have a better idea of which I receive more of.
