Title: Do cigarette company "stamps" still sell on eBay?
Post by: MovieMan on August 08, 2013, 09:18:45 AM
I used to find "stamps" from Marlboro in lockers and at the time I think they sold on eBay for people who wanted to redeem them for items like backpacks, fishing rods, etc....all stamped with the Marlboro name.

I doubt Marlboro issues those anymore, but I wonder if they are still redeemable?

Well, I wasn't able to find any for sale on eBay but I learned something new in the process. Old & rare Marlboro cigarette boxes are collectible. Of course, the the tobacco has to be removed to resell them on eBay, but I wonder if unopened packages sell for more to collectors?

And tens of thousands of tobacco consumers saw their dreams of a Marlboro parka go up in smoke.

Well I certainly hope that you don't plan on using your Vantage point of being an admin to start a debate on the Merit of canceling coupons, because that just wouldn't be Kool.

I was thinking of stopping at Foxwoods Casino during my trip, who knows I could end up with a Luck Strike.

I thought ebay did away with all coupons. As far as tobacco I think they allow american type tobacco vintage memorbilia but no actual tobacco products

While I was researching this, I saw several lots of tobacco coupons listed for sale. Coupons are selling well on eBay. Want free money? You can buy Chase Bank coupons where if you open a new checking account, you get $100, $150 or even $200 or more depending on the type of account you open.

Just because an item is listed doesn't mean its allowed to be listed on ebay. ebay is full of fake lacoste polos as clearly nobody sells new lacost polos for 20 bucks. Ebay has way too many listings to police. I'm not a tattle tale on ebay but its bull**** if ebay penailises me for something and lets all my competitors do the very same thing so occasionally I'll bring a listing to their attention. They never do anything about anything. I got penalized once ove a stupid issue someone claimed I was using their pic when it was a public domain stock photos. I disapeared from ebay searches for like 3 months, I have a competitor with his website links all over his listings they do nothing, listing items in the wrong category to get more listings and avoid limits and get lower % fees again ebay does nothing. This has been going on about a year, I've reported wit the report button and also called up and talked to reps 5 times nothing has been done. Just because you see something on ebay doesn't mean its allowed and though ebay is bad about policing ebay if your unlucky enough to get caught there goes your ebay account all over selling a coupon and making a couple bucks.
