Title: Helpful tips/links
Post by: Fayettenam Man on November 02, 2011, 03:36:32 PM
I just recently started selling on ebay, and by no means am I an expert with 12 feedback, but I ran across two links that I think could help others.

The first one being this: skipmcgrath.com/auction_sr/77-tips-tools-selling-ebay.shtml

And the second one is a 'calendar' of sorts, showing the best duration of auction time in accordance to the day you are starting it on:  auctionbytes.com/cab/pages/calendar

I have just started selling clothes on ebay, specifically coats and winter stuff. Things that would go for $3-5 at a yard sale can be turned into 20 or 30 on ebay. Same goes for holiday decorations and the like. If you save stuff like that up for the right time of the year, it seems a person could make a bundle!

Feel free to add.

Thanks for the links.  I'm finding the auctionbytes website to be very informative.  Will be bookmarking that one.

The ebay help forums are always helpful. I'd been on ebay for years befoe I even checked that out and I was amazed at some of the stupid things I was doing before. for example I was using the post office automated machine where Parcel Post is the only option no First Class. I was paying like $6 to send a t-shirt when it coudl have been done for like $1.75 with delivery confirmation.

Just browsing the various categories you can find some good info. Browse the shippign section for shipping tips, other sections for listing strategies, etc.
