Do you take returns?  If so, what is your feeling about them in general regarding the lost sale, etc.

I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours !  ;D

I accept returns up to 14 days ONLY because I'm required to to keep my power seller status and top rated seller plus status, otherwise i wouldn't. i do however charge a 20% restocking fee. there's no reason to return my items so if a customer wants to return they are going to pay. this helps discourage returns while still offering them to comply with policy. not everyone can do the restocking fee though. one of my accounts i can another i cant. not sure why, whether it has to do with the level of my store or that one isn't top rated and power seller.

No returns unless I made a mistake.

just my take but yyou may as well take returns for 14 days. ebays/paypals buyer protection is so strong that if someone really wants to they can get a return anyways whether its justified or not. may as well offer returns and take advantage of the higher search ranking and if you do enough volume to be a power seller or top rated seller that status and everything that goes along with it

ebays buyer protection essentially is a return policy. really only difference is if you dont offer returns someone cant return "cuz i dont want it anymore" aside from that buyer protection allows them to get a return anyway and most people will claim something is wrong with the item even if something isn't just to get their return so my take is why not just offer it, charge them a 20% restocking fee and even if someone does return its still a win win for me i make 20% and can resell to another buyer make another 10% on the sale and I made 30% on something I normally would have made 10% oon

I have it set to a 14 day return policy, but in the description I say I only accept returns for DOA, damaged during shipping, or significantly not as described. If I have a item marked as is (ie parts or repairs only) I state I only accept returns on damage during shipping or significantly not as described. Have not had a problem yet with returns. Only had 3 items returned, and they resold quickly for the same or more so no big deal.
