Title: bought some lockers in august
Post by: NewBuyer on September 02, 2013, 11:13:01 AM
I lost my job a month ago, the store went out of business, so I have bought a few lockers to make some money.

Got a couple of small ones a 5 x 10 and a 10 x 10 for ok money but the return wasn't all that good. I put some items on craigslist and held a couple of yard sales.

In this hot weather I don't think I would want to do locker buying every week. Its a lot of work !

It's tough work, and you have to know what you're looking at. I'm in North Carolina, and it gets really hot here too, and humid! But, this is a year round business if you're tough enough, and dedicated. If you've been in the game a month and you haven't lost money, you're doing okay. If you're focusing on selling your items through craigslist and yard sales only, you may not last too long.

I haven't found anything good enough to put on ebay but I have an account there and have bought some things, so tht might be the next step if I keep buying.

If i had gotten a locker with super stuff in it i might be more inspired, but I'm ok with it so far and will keep it up as long as i think it is a money-maker.

You're not going to find a whole of super stuff like what you see on TV, unless you get really excited over bedroom furniture in decent shape. This isn't really the business for treasure hunting. It's more about practicality, patience and connections.

Never doubt what is worth selling on ebay, I'd look up EVERYTHING your not 100% positive on. I have been very surprised on things I might not have even put out on my yard sale tables. My most recent example: A Ninja Turtles Cereal bowl. It would have took months to get 50 cent to a dollar. They sell on ebay for $15-20 (mine sold within a week). Yea not a big score, but for something that could just as easily been tossed in the trash? Yea, I'll take it.
