So I bought a 10X10 the other day that was PACKED, floor to ceiling with boxes. During the clean out, I came across several boxes of costume jewelry. There's about 40 small Ziplock bags full of the stuff. The quality of the items ranges from low to some vintage. For those of you who have experience with costume jewelry, what is the most effective way to sell?

I have an Etsy store to sell my vintage costume jewelry. That has been the best way for me. Be patient. It will take a while. The thing for me is that it doesn't take up much space so I don't mind the time. The stuff that is not vintage I blow out on a dollar rack. Best to just move it.

Appreciate the input, I'll probably list them on both Etsy & eBay and take the rest to the swap meet.

Also, you might consider selling it in lots on eBay. Often, people will see a few pieces that they really like and end up buying the entire lot just to get them. For example, my wife came across a lot of 75 pieces of miscellaneous costume jewelry . She really only wanted 3 elephant pendants. (She collects anything to do with elephants. It's getting ridiculous, but that's an entirely different story.) We ended up buying the entire lot. She kept the pendants that she wanted and gave out the rest of the pieces to family members.

Good point, Travis. It would be too tedious & impractical to sell these items individually. My eBay lister would probably quit on me if I made her do that...

I send them all to a consignment auction house (after careful examination and picking out all of the better pieces). They sort and bag into different lots and sell in one night.
After the first bag allow them to offer the buyer the choice for all. I sold the first bag for 20 and she ended up taking the next 10 bags at the same price because she was afraid someone would bid more.
