Anyone have any tips on getting the most out of your dump runs? No pun intended.

Look in to what your local garbage collector will take in the recycle. I ended up getting a recycle dumpster. Not only can you put the common things in there but my garbage company allows fabric, shoes, video taps, dvds, plastic toys and a few other things I can't remember right now.
I keep a metal bin that I take to the recycler every few months.
Anything made out of wood (even pressed) that is not sellable goes on Craigslist for free. Usually get picked up in a day or two.
I donate things that are good but I don't want to sell to several local non-profits.
When you sort you end up with very few dump runs.

You have no idea of the self-control I am exercising at this very moment.

I didn't think you would be able to resist.

I donate what I can.  Where I'm at I can dump for free.

I also can dump for free(mattresses, couches, pretty much anything that is not considered hazardous) and live I 5 mins from the dump. Most time it is easier for me to just dump it then to try to get someone to take it for free.

I'm not even going to go there.   :D   I mean, literally, I'm not going anywhere near that dumpster.  Kidding of course.

Of course, my last statement was said tongue in cheek. But I really do throw most of my trash in there. If it fits, they take it. Mattresses fit, that's all I'm really concerned about. But even still, if you're a county resident, you dump free at the county dump site.
