Title: Has anyone ever bid by phone at a storage auction?
Post by: Travis on January 26, 2013, 08:46:53 PM
Has anyone ever bid by phone at a storage auction? The reason I ask is because there is a unit I'm really interested in but it's 200 miles away. I would hate to make that drive and not win the unit.

No, but I've watched a few dumba**es sit there on the phone and describe every item in the auction to their husband and work to see if they can get permission to bid on that locker while holding everybody up! >:(

I would hate to make that drive and not win the unit.

I would hate to win it, arrive, and then find out it wasn't as described to me on the phone.

Like the Teacher said! Those are the funniest to run up! There is a auction house I go to that allows call in bids. I haven't used the service yet.

I remember way back before the tv shows came on and before pictures of units were posted online people bidding over the phone. I never understood it as all they really had to go on ws the facility manager or auctioneer assistant giving them a breif description.

that said back then units were going so cheap you coudn't really go wrong.
