Has anyone ever found a Rolex or another high end watch?

I know its off topic :) but I found a "wannabe" Rolex once. Sold it at a reasonable (yes, we both know its fake) price.

I have 1 vintage ladies bulova watch I keep meaning to take to a jeweler to have them check it out before I throw it on ebay. It is 14k gold with about 4 diamonds but it is not working and the conditon isn't great.

A guy I know found an empty rolex box in a room and then the next month, unbeknownst to him he bought the persons sister room and it had 3 genuine ones in there.  The retail was about $12-15k each they sold at auction for $2500 each.

I've found plenty of old bulova 14k and 18k watches.  They aren't worth much.  I just take them at this point and sell them as scrap plus a little extra.  Easier and faster than waiting to sell on ebay.  Especially the older skinnier ones that aren't really in style and they can sit forever.

That seems like a rather low fetch at the auction.

So far I have found one fake Rolex and two fake Breitlings.

I have found two C.O.A.s for real Rolex. The next time I find a fake I am just going to stick one of the C.O.A.s with it and rock it out at the flea market!  :97:

I actually saw him yesterday.

He said it was:
1. $3750 - retail 15k
2. $3400 - retail 12k
3. $2500 - retail $7k

I think his mistake was that the auction he put them up in was more for dealers so they were looking to pay 30%ish.

Like jewelry they get it all on consignment direct from distributors so there is no need to straight out purchase them if they don't need to.  He should have waited for the good one in the area on NYE, he would have easily gotten double.

I've found some boxes of watch parts, bands, faces, etc including some rolex but never a working rolex. Parts can fetch a decent buck if they are from vintage watches though.
