Sort of wish we had a site like this in GA.  That way I could save my gas money for some of these trash units.  That unit looks to be so/so.  At $1,500 it would sell in my area looking like that or maybe cheaper.  Some of the other units that had 2 days still on them were more reasonable in price.

I could see that unit hitting $1500 in my area on a good day, or bad day depending on how you look at it. Proabaly $1250-$1750 on major well advertised auction trail, $700-$1000 at small less advertised independent auction.

the problem with online auctions is you can get great deals untill the cats out of the bag then everything goes retail or higher
im not wild about that room for the $2000 its up to now and personally wouldnt have spent more than 6-700 on it

Hard to tell... But I would feel ok bidding up to ~$1,500 for that locker if that is craftsman tool box. If it is snap on - ~$2,500. Hard to tell from pictures. I don't think I would ever by a storage unit online...

Just re-looked at that unit.  Figure it is good practice.  I suspect everyone is driving the price up on that unit thinking it has lots of antiques.  It does have some age to it.  Plus, it looks like it was professionally wrapped.  You have shrink wrap around some of the furniture.  Plus the company moving boxes.  See an old style highchair in front, that shoe shine kit is old school.  American flag became real popular again after 9-11 so that isn't really a "tell" like they would before.  Golf clubs look old so not much value there.  The toolbox looks to be a harbor freight model.  Don't see "craftsmen" on the front like you normally would.  Or someone didn't put the sticker on.  The roll-up desk is a nice item.  Hopefully gas hasn't leaked onto it from the (I think) gas can on top of it.

What about the wood with the faces engraved on it. I know some of those pieces go for big bucks but that looks like a reproduction. Wow unit is up to 2 grand already. Bet this goes for 2700.00

Actually, correction - we are training a facility in Hiram, Georgia next week. From there it will start to snowball as it always does.

One facility or two that does this online would be great.  I wouldn't want everyone to do it however.  Part of the "fun" that I have is interacting with the other regulars and all of the BS sessions before, during, and after an auction.  Not to mention the other contacts that you can develope at an auction.

Plus - I prefer to see a unit in person so that I can get a good "read" on it.  That includes what is smells like, looking at the cut lock, dust, etc.  Would hate to win a unit for say $500 based on the pictures and then find at a different angle you see all the rat crap, water damage boxes, etc. 

A lot of auto auctions have gone web based. Good side is we can get cars from Hawaii to Miami without expense of sending guy out there. And they've all got shippers on stand by so don't have to line that up.
 But have been screwed. Mechanical is always a gamble but have pictures and descriptions of "clean" "perfect interior"....and they come and smell like death or dented from hail or.......

I like to be there. Look at it.

Side story: my buddy got a 2009 tahoe ltz for $17000. Auction description said "major paint defects and multiple dents per panel"
Thought for the price it would be worth it.
So gets it and "paint defect" was it was a rental and auto car wash had finely scratched entire thing. Dents? Little door dings that took and hour to rub out.
Got the car. Hour on dents. Two hours to cut/polish and sold two days later for $32000.
After expences made $11,000 and some change.

So it goes both ways on bidding online......
