Hello all, new to the forum and just moved back to seattle after being gone 10 years. Went to my first auction here today, couldn't believe it, first unit was a 5 x10, all you could see was two old black rotten mattresses and an old black particle board headboard and an old suitcase. Nothing else could bee seen but there was only about 4 feet left behind the mattresses and judging by those I doubt anything of much value was back there. I thought maybe 50.00 on a gamble something was behind them. Bid went to 535.00 including the tax and 10% buyers premium!! Why??
Second unit there wa a 4x4x4 cupboard. Nothing in it except christmas balls, papers and old folders and a 12" old tv. Sold for 135.00.
Same guy bought both.
Why would anyone gamble 535.00 on a unit with the only visible items being rotten mattresses and a broken headboard.
Hope this is not how they all are here. I probably would have declined the first one if it had been free. Have any thoughts?

Welcome to Seattle! This is the real "reality"!

Probable thinks that those old black rotten mattresses belong to DB Cooper and all that missing money was inside that bed, lol.

The prices are because of the tv show. People watch the show and think this is an easy way to make money. So they gamble and spend lots of money cause they know it all . WRONG.
