Law Enforcement sting

Law Enforcement sting

Sooner or later it was bound to happen. Just got into the business first part of November. I have noticed some questionable things with the different auctions.

So I'm leaving an auction today and in comes about 6 unmarked cars. Just found out it was a sting operation against the owners or managers etc.

I would imagine this might clear up some of the bs around this area for at least a little while.

Keep us updated what the sting was about, if you hear or read about it?

We only need a few places to be smacked with fraud charges for the others to start cleaning up their acts.

If you would be so kind, I'm curious where this happened and whether the facility was an independent or a chain.

The sting was in the deep South. The facility was privately owned. Very large facility.

This may or may not be true but I was told that they have rented several units in this area, videotaped the units and contents, then sent in undercover to the auctions. Must have auctioned a unit today that sealed the deal with missing items.

Who knows. Funny to me though.

Friend of mine from county says Theft and other charges.

They were taking things out the night before the auctions. Videotape evidence of them taking items out and videotape of contents. That should be enough.

Crooks.  ;D

Another sting last week.

Manager was going into the units, all videotaped.

Selling items on Craigslist.

Getting heated around here.

Sounds like this could be lucky for you, might  stop some of the FUNNY things happening with the units.

What state are you reporting from? Some states don't require the facility to auction off the contents of the units so facility employees going through them first and grabbing the "goodies" is legal and expected where I live.
