Title: Metal Detectors in auction lockers
Post by: MovieMan on November 12, 2013, 04:18:37 PM
Has anyone ever gotten a metal detector in a storage locker?  This would be the good ones by Whites, etc, not the $30 Radio Shack variety.  ;D

I haven't found one yet but I always hope to.  I used to be an avid treasure hunter.  I have had all kinds of MDs but my favorite was the Minelab Excalibur  I used in the lake at various swimming holes (found a lot of gold).  If I see even part of one sticking out in a unit I will recognize it.  Hopefully the average Joe won't know what it is or what it's worth.  They sell for about $1400 new and around 800 used.  Also using the deductive reasoning only a storage unit buyer can appreciate  :D maybe in some of the boxes there will be some of the gold the owner found with it. :)

I'd like to find one too! Around here, there are tons of Civil War artifacts in the ground. I just don't want to shell out the big bucks to really effectively look for them.
