The storage auction business can be an exciting one, and the thrill of the hunt for valuable items is one of the main reasons people get into this business. Also, I think a lot of people enjoy being self-employed.
Why else do you think motivates people to get into the storage auction business?

I got into this a little while before the shows started comming on so I really didn't know what to expect going in. I heard a friend talking about hearing about storage auctions. I happenned to have a day off work and was driving by a facility when I saw a sign that said auction today. I decided to check it out, they had one unit for auction in a silent bid format. I wound up winning, it was probably my best if not one of my best units to date. I was hooked after that.

I already commented with my experience but for others I think some people literally think every unit is stuffed with cash or valualbe antiques. I think for many people just looking for a side hustle this is a low investment no commitment hustle to try out, if you like it you can expand, if you don't or you aren't successful bow out and all you lose is whatever you spend on that first locker.

I was wondering this myself. For me, it is just going to be something to do in my down time to earn extra income for me, my husband, and our kids. I stay at home, he goes to work, but since the birth of our second, we can use the extra money. Our youngest is only 2 and I don't like the idea of having someone else raise her in these years so until she is in school, I am staying home.

My wife and I feel the same way. Our daughter has been coming to auctions with us since she was a few months old.
