That's a tuff one. If one doesn't have some savings to draw on or some profit from previous buys/sells then re-thinking the whole thing might be in order.

I visit the rich widows in my town. That's always good for a quick couple of Gs. ;)

That is when I would be taking in all of my scrap metal (ferrous and non-ferrous) to sell.  I keep it stockpiled for rainy days so to speak.

If I ever find gold/silver those would be saved for rainy days also.  Current metal prices are down so unless you really need the cash hold onto some stuff.

Would rethink spending a couple hundred on a unit. Our best returns have been on the under $30 units.

Last unit was $23. Have sold $110 out of it. With tail lights left to sell.

Sell off your inventory you have cheap. Turn and burn. As mentioned in another thread of ads on CL of people selling the extras from their unit buys.

That's what I did this weekend. Got some nice items cheap.
Cleaning up some furniture right now. Hope to get on CL in next day or two.
Still on the fence if I should CL the Sentry safe or keep till I get a good one.

I'm in a position where I have money set aside and items that I want X amount for so holding out but if need cash I can drop price and sell fast.

Scrap is always a good stand by. Can find that all over town.

Or at times I have just thrown out a CL ad to detail cars,

or undercoat/fabric/leather protect. New car buyers are much more willing to pay $100 to me with no warranty over ther dealerships $400-1000 with warranty that most people know is almost impossible to claim on......
