Title: Storage retrieval auctions?
Post by: Leota on August 06, 2012, 08:32:44 AM
Could someone please explain what a retrieval auction is? They may call it something else but this is what I was told it's called. I heard it is when a person rents a storage truck for moving and fails to return it but leaves some of their items (things they decided they didn't want to move with them) so the storage company auctions them off. Do you know if it is worth a person's while to even go to one of these type of auctions? I kinda understand that most of the items would be larger household things and anything that would have been real good would have already been taken out by the owners. I have only heard of this type of auction recently so I would like to know if the info I am receiving is correct. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Now think about that for a moment. Would they leave their valuables behind and take their junk, or would they take their valuables and leave their junk?

Yes, I understand they would take their valuables, what I am trying to find out is, is the furniture and larger items worth while (on an average) to bid on or is it total junk? :-)

IMHO - It's total junk.

Thank you for the info.  I had a feeling it might be like that.
