Title: Storage Treasures - New Year, New Fees
Post by: Travis on January 08, 2014, 11:37:51 AM
If you haven't already heard the news, Storage Treasures is no longer free. Well, it is but it isn't. As a new member, you can view 50 storage auctions for free, but anything after that you have to pay for their service. For those of you who use their service, how do you feel about this?

I would imagine that it doesn't really effect those of you who live in a small town or who don't attend that many auctions. However, for those of you who live in larger cities with multiple auctions, it must be frustrating.

I was reading the following comment from a user on their site. Looks like their first attempt at online storage auctions isn't going so well for them.

Harvey Pj · Eugene, Oregon
Well my first thought is this sucks to navigate. Doesn't show where the unit facility is for online bidding so who knows where it is. Trying to find today's auctions and i cant so i'm done. It used to be easy to find auctions on this site but not any more.

I guess the first question is, how much does it cost to keep the site up?
And how much the profit from it.
The other thing of it is does it help you?

I don't use their listings because it's not very accurate. But I went back in there to check it out today.. what stinks is that if you choose to show an upcoming auction that has been cancelled already, you still get 1 "view" taken from you. It's not a good policy. For my money, I'd rather pay the $20/month for SUAL.com, get more accurate info, and more listings (for my area).

I would imagine that it costs them at least $1000 a month to subscribe to SUAL for all 50 states.   :D

No, their fees vary by state.
