Video Games

Video games & consoles are a pretty common find in storage units. What systems & games are selling well and what's the best way to sell them? Are the vintage systems and games selling well?

Craigslist is where I usually sell the consoles and games as a bundle.  I am trying to get rid of as much as possible before the launch of the new Xbox and PS3 because Clist will be flooded with older systems then.

Are they releasing new systems this Christmas?

PS4 release date is November 15
Xbox One is a week later November 22

Would be a good time to try and order some for Christmas shortage that is surely going to happen

I need to sell my Wii. I found it and several games in a storage unit. Hooked it up a few weeks ago. Can't seem to get used to the controller.

If it has the Wii Sports play that first.  I remember when the Wii first came out I volunteered at a couple of Senior Centers and we had Wii Bowling night.  It was a blast so if those old folks can do it ......

Wii still has a good value.  At garage sales I have connected it to an old tube TV and sold it as a set.

I believe it is the sport package. We also have the wireless exercise step for Wii fit. What is the sport package selling for?

Is it like this
http://www.qvc.com/qvc.product.E223655.html?item=E223655&ref=GAS&tpl=detail&cm_ven=GOOGLESHOPPINGFEED&cm_cat=Electronics&cm_pla=Video%20Games&cm_ite=E223655-000-000&CAWELAID=1919421043&catargetid=600006460000295814&cadevice=c&cagpspn=pla

If it is like that I usually throw in a 27' tube tv and sell everything for $100 and take $8

I usually value the Wii at $40 and each controller $5 then each games at $5.  I add $20 for the TV.  I have even went on Clist to find Wiis cheap to add them to the TVs I have specifically for garage sales

I got a used Wii, two controllers with chucks, two aftermarket w/chucks and charging station, exercise package (wii fitness, active, yoga and the step thingy), gun controller and 10 games (mostly the  'Call of Duty' line) for $149.99.....back in 2011

Pawn shop has the Wii and one controller for $34.99.    GameStop sells package for $100 (not sure what comes in it, think two controllers and Wii sports)

Perhaps I can put an ad in the barter section of Craigslist and trade the Wii for a more system with more traditional controller. I must be getting old -video game technology now frustrates me. It shouldn't. My generation was raised on video games.

You can get a "normal" controller for Wii for under $20.  And I think GameCube controllers work.
I see GameCubes at thrift stores all the time for $5-$10.

<UPDATE>

GameCube controllers generally only work when playing GameCube games on the Wii console.

Classic controllers only work on games with "classic controller icon" on package.

Wii's around here sell for $30-$50. PS3's still get over $100. Xbox 360s get just below to right around $100. I sell the games for $5 ea. PS2 games for $3 ea. I research each game before selling it at that price. Sold a Zelda game for Gamecube 2 weeks ago on ebay for $40. Older consoles sell well if they work. $30-$60 depending on the system.
