What looks good from the door.......

What looks good from the door.......

and drives the bid often is not what I thought.

So I won that online unit (after sniping a guy who sniped me the previous month) and had figured out what we had $$$ wise.  The final price after the 10% buyers premium was $79.50.
The mattress set was garbage - $10.
Some of the seen appliances were ratty -$10
The giant ficus tree was trashed -$10

So there's $30 of my $80.  Yikes!  But we did find 2 Compaq computer towers, with 3 Planar 15" flat screen monitors and numerous keyboards, cables and mice.  2 beautiful flower girls dresses and just a mishmosh of stuff.

We had some buyers coming over for a stereo cabinet (fallaparticle board from a previous unit) and they took a rolling sterilite 6 drawer unit for $10.
Then another group showed up 5 minutes later for the same stereo cabinet (oops.....), they were disappointed, but we managed to sell them $50+ worth of merchandise including the microwave and fallaparticle board desk from the online unit!

In the bottom of a bag I found a broken Nintendo-ds-lite.  Listed it on ebay for an opening of $4.99.  Already has a bid with watchers.

So as of right now, I've made back $35 of the $80 and have quite a bit of salable items.  I'm praying somebody can come up with a quick $150-200 for the computer stuffs so I can simply donate the 4+ bags of clothes I ended up with!!

Oh and can I interest you in a Lusty Linda (x-rated) pen holder?!  sheesh~

I'm glad I got the unit and it was a learning experience, but frankly~I like the action of a live auction much better.  While I could study the photos, seeing in real life is believing.

It always looks good from the door.  ::)

Just like shopping catches your eye then you get close and walk the other way.  :D

Hope you get the fast cash for the computer stuff.

Like the live auctions better even with 60 noobies.

Least you didn't spend to much rockin.  I've been in person and had units that look good from the door turn to be duds.

If the computers are not at least XP's you may have a hard time selling them.  Can you tell how old the keyboards are.  CLICKY boards are worth some money on ebay.  But, they have to be really old to be CLICKY.  The newer keyboards are too hushed.

Your recent sale of that broken Lite put me on a new eBay track. An $18 sale on a maybe $1.00 listing is a good return for something that would "never" sell at the flea, but makes sense that almost everything can be repaired by someone who has the specialized knowledge to do that and the place to find those folks would be eBay for sure. And it's easy to ship !

Now....how do I test a couple Nintendo64 controllers?
I have no idea if these things work or not.....ugh......

craiglst~They are XP.  We've got the lot listed for $200.  we had an offer (texted) of $100 this morning. Countered with $150.  Countered with $125.  Countered with $135....never heard back.  It'll all sell eventually....but dang!  What's $10 bucks among craigslist folks?

Money~I am sooooo not a shopper and my husband is truly grateful! ;)

They are going to see how long you are going to hold out.

I am really a looker not a buyer. on the shopping scene. Unless it is a good deal.  ;) My husband is great-full too. Has to make me buy new clothes.

Also with Movieman there is someone out there to buy something to repair. I would have hesitated on it being broken.  My husband looks at me like nobody will buy that one GMC center cap. Had to replace one one time what a pain and cost. Before ebay time.

With 50 free listings put up anything and everything as it gets toward the end of the month.  Or when they have "free days" you can list as much as you want.  Just be prepared with pictures, etc. before hand.

I just sold a yearbook for $5 on ebay.  Only a few bucks profit after fee/shipping but better then nothing.
