Title: Where do you process your merchandise?
Post by: Travis on May 07, 2014, 08:21:12 AM
Do you process your merchandise at the storage facility or do wait until you get to your home/business? What do you think the advantages/disadvantages are with either method?

Mostly at home due to time constraints but recently bought a unit with lots of useless stuff so we brought garbage bags and sorted a large percentage of it there. Then we loaded the bags in the trailer first so they could stay there until the dump run. It was nice to not have to move the stuff twice.

I haul it all out, clean the unit, get my deposit back, then head home to sort the good from the bad.

I do this full time. I always ask the facility if I can use their dumpster. If yes its processed there and I spend more on units. If not it gets done in my 4 car garage. Takes me about a day to process a full 10x20 if I hustle
