Title: abandoned unit

hi i am tania and i am from ohio,a friend of ours bought a unit with volgswagons in it 1 with a title the other has not been found.what steps do we have to take to make sure they are ligit and how can we retrieve the title if it is clean.thank you for your help

Check with your local dmv. Give  them either plate or VIN numbers. They can tell you if any money is owed or what is going on with the cars.

May cost you $5 or so to check each one, but so what.  After that they can then tell you what to do to make them your own.

DMV would seem to be the only option if you want to sell them whole. I doubt even a scrap yard would take them whole unless you could prove they were yours.

You could part them out and you wouldn't have to do anything else.

Actually there are locals, at least around here, check in your area for them in CL or signs around the neighborhoods. They buy junk cars with or with out a title.

If it hasn't had a title renewed in 10 years it may not show as a regestered owner you can usually get it in your name.
