HI, I have been reading this site among others for awhile now, have been to a couple of auctions (not bought any yet) but am very interested in this business as hopefully a way to make a little extra income, and think it would be great to be able to make a living at it.  I will be going to another auction at the end of this month, i will remain patient but am looking forward to my 1st buy. Reading on this site has been very helpful and I will update any buys that I win.

Hey, welcome to the forum. That's great that you're being patient, most newcomers don't posses that quality. I'm glad you're enjoying the site and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

LOL, i guess nothing except losing money and finding out I really don't know what I'm getting into....    i have seen suggestions of buying a small unit just to get more of an  idea of all the work that goes into this business

Yeah, that's one way. The other is to go into this with an exit strategy. Know how you will resell and store the merchandise before you buy the unit. Once you figure that out, you'll have a better idea of the size of the unit, or how much merchandise, you can buy.

Thanks,  I do have a fairly good size shop building i can store in. My problem will be the resell, I plan on Craiglist, Ebay, local flea markets and maybe some local consignment shops. Is the consignment idea a good one?
