Best way to sell cloths?

Hello. We are new to storage auctions.  I have read posts about selling the clothing found.  Where is the best way to do this?  I usually just donate my old clothing.  Thanks for any replies.

This will depend somewhat on your location.  For high-end name brand cloths in good shape you can sale them on ebay.  For your mid to low upper-scale cloths you can try ebay or craig (this is where region plays into it alot).  The majority of the cloths are going to hit the flea market or yard sale.  Things that only sale for $5 or less, mostly for $1.  Anything else is what you donate for the tax write-off.

I know from talking with my sister-in-law that does yard sales and such for her income.  The baby cloths sell well but only at $1 each and such.

I was surprised lately to notice many flea markets in my area are now stating "no rummage clothes"

Not sure what constitutes rummage clothes but I would imagine basically anything thats not new with tags or at the very least anything that is not in like new condition so now totes of womens shoes, totes of random tshirts for 0.25 etc.

Not sure how closely this will be enforced as they also say no counterfit merchandise, knockoffs, etc and we know how well they enforce that but I was surrprised that they made the effort to specifically rewrite policies nad list no rummage clothes at a number of flea markets in my area.

Hmm - I was just at the flea market Saturday and didn't see any signs or post about it.  From looking at the tables and such I don't think they have one yet.  They do have the no counterfit stuff posted and the cops have even busted a few vendors in the last couple of years for counterfits.

When I was buying full time, I never wasted time looking at name brands unless I liked them and they were my size. I probably should have but I just didn't have time because we were processing 7-9 large units per week. I bought this one locker where everything this guy owned was Versace, Gucci or Hugo Boss and it was all my size. Needless to say, I kept most of it.

Anyway, back to the average clothing. I never washed or folded any clothing. For my garage sales, we would just spread out blankets and pile the clothing up. Even though most of the clothing sold for $1 -$2, we actually sold quite a bit of it. If it still didn't sell after running it through 2 garage sales, we would just donate it.

We had a few Nigerian people who would buy the clothing in bulk. For example, they would come by the garage sale around 3:00PM and buy all the clothing that was left for $40-$50. To me, selling it in bulk for a discount is better than a tax deduction.
