newbie at auctions

i just started going to auctions ive been to 2 so far havent bid on anything yet just been watching.  ive got a question if i bid and actually win 1 can i sell some of the stuff at pawn stores or wouldnt you recommend that?  and one other question that i havent seen anywhere but do i need my own lock if i win the locker (yes i do know this question sounds stupid)

Pawn shops last resort for selling. The idea is to make the most off what you buy.

Would poke around on here use the search feature on selling. Several different avenues may have to try a few to find the one that works best for you. Ebay, flea markets, yard sales, consignment shops, rented retail space, Craigslist,  ect.

NEED TO FIGURE THIS PART OUT BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!!

and yes you need your own lock. use the search and can find several topics on it. What kind and how many ect.

Welcome Manykats to the forums.  As money said - use the search function.  Many of your questions have been answered several dozen times.  If you don't want to do a search just spend an hour or so and read the next few pages in the "Noobie Center" section.

You really need to have a good idea of what you need before and after a auction.  A lock is just the start.  You also need to know what to do if/when you win a unit.  Where are you going to store the stuff?  What are you going to do with it?  How are you going to sell it?  How can you dispose of the trash?  These are just some of the quick questions to answer yourself.

Another question to ask yourself ----> Do you like Hasenpfeffer??

Lol Cheesehead - not had it but I'm always up for a good stew.  Of course if I like it the squirrels and rabbits in my area may become scarce.

Attend some auctions and see if its something you might be interested in.Don't bid unless you have a plan.It takes alot of work and sometimes with very little payoff,Talk to people in your area see what they do with the stuff they want to sell.There are many resources and avenues you just find out what works for you.You may find its not what you want to do.

Perhaps his username isn't referring to him being an animal hoarder; it could be referring to the amount of women in his harem that share a similar nickname. 

Just to give you an idea a guitar I recently sold for $150 on craigslist I was offered $30 for at a pawn shop.

Also, pawn shops tend to be very picky about what they take such as only electronics, gold, instraments, etc they aren't going to take the household crap which is what you will have the most of. You want to make the most of those big ticket items and not give them away for nothing. Also, those will be the items that you have the easiest time selling on your own as well.

It's easy to get rid of a 50" flat screen tv, its not easy to get rid of dishes, china, etc.
