Finally going to one later this month. I have never been to one. Do I need a lock for these?

It varies at every location. I went to one the other day that the facility put their lock back on the unit until you pay them. Most however, you will need your own lock on the spot. It doesn't hurt to have a few on you at all times.

That is what I thought, but didnt want to walk in with my locks on my belt loop like I have been doing and not even need them, pretty much did not want to look out of place. Ya know?

In my area you its basically expected you put a lock on your unit as soon as you win the auction. Normally there are a few auctions at a facility and everyone moves on to the next unit so unless your ok with having your unit unlocked while you go to the next unit you shoudl have one. Also the managers normally lock up the office when they are doing the auctions so you'l have to wait until until all the acutions are over and then its kinda a hassle b/c he's trying to take payment from 5 other guys and you and you need to buy a lock. You can buy them at the facility but its normally like $15 for the same lock you can get at a hardware store for half of that or less.

SEE GUYS my manbag does come in handy...lol...I must have 20 molley clips or whatever they call those clips on the bag. I normally hang a few locks from there.

Even if you didn't have a lock, nobody in their right mind is going to mess with the unit, except perhaps if the delinquent tenant were there. There cameras at the front of the facility capture license plates and if someone got caught going into a unit, it's considered burglary of a business.

Wow, you guys are all hi-tech and stuff.  I just keep two locks in my front pocket, and a small flashlight in my back pocket, and I'm good to go........and I don't look like I've been watching too many tv shows! ;D

Remember kids, it's not the size of the flashlight, it's how you use it.

Sounds like a clear case of overcompensation.
