You can pay to have it delivered.  I think you end up renting it for a month also in order for that to be done.  IMO it isn't worth it.  Most pod auctions go for $1k and higher.

agreed. ive only been to one or two pods auctions but some of the highest prices and largest crowds I've ever seen.  i attended mine during the height of the whole storage auction craze but it was still way worse than other auctions ive been to.

Sam if your looking for a new source of merch check out police auctions, freight auctions, and other things like that. Pods is no different from storage auctions and it's typically the same type of merchandise as your average storage auction.

The crowds are worse as well. I can't speak for all areas but in my area there's one mian pods facility outside of Chicago where they auction the stuff at and they seem to not do them all that frequently so when they do have them it tends to be people from all over chicagoland comming out for this one auction that doesn't happen often as opposed to your average storage facility who has auctions weekly if not monthly and it's not as big of a deal to make it out to one.

The only pod auction I was at was one of the better ones I have been too.  There were 4 pods. The average unit was $500.  I have been looking for them to do it again.

I always just see them listed in the legal notices with the storage liens and such. Haven't been to one, but they run regularly around here.

Missed out on one that advertised 40+ units. Would've been nice to see that many in one place, but I also fear what the crowds would've been like.

I went to one a few months ago. They advertised 7 units, when I got there they had 3, then two paid up last minute. The last unit sold for a reasonable price. I would have went a little higher on my bid but I don't have my trucks, labor or outlet anymore now that I'm a "behind the scenes guy". ::)
