Title: The Dude and His Elusive First Unit
Post by: AlabamaDude on July 28, 2011, 09:27:58 PM
Finally got that elusive first unit at a silent auction today for $10.98. Looks to be pretty promising to get that $11 back.

$11 back? Do you know what kind of TV you got? There are Gold and Platnium Bars in there. lol

Seriously though, I am curious about that picture in there. Think you can post a picture of just that? Oh forgot to mention, the big one, the one with the dove on it.

@JRossJr  Actually, the picture with the dove on it was just a pic with hip hop artists and stuff that I may get $3-4 dollars for at a swap meet. The other picture I sold for $15 to a lady that belongs to a sorority and she just enjoys buying stuff like that.

The TV has power and all yet it doesn't have the RF connection for a cable hookup, so its practically worthless. I'm not even going to bother pawning it. There is a 2-drawer Formica nightstand that you see behind the armoire, and I gave that to my Dad as a gift. The box full of clothes didn't have any surprises but my wife was able to find a shower curtain still in its packaging that was real nice, as well as some jewelry bangles. The armoire is junk and of low quality, and I intend on scrapping that today.

All and all, I didn't expect to make much money off of this but I did make my money back along with making a couple people happy.

And you were able to get your first and all of the jitters from that are gone.  Nice little unit, easy to clean.  Congrats on making some people happy and getting your money back./

Put that TV on CL, you may be able to get $5 - $20 for it. Although it may take awhile to get it sold, but it will sell. Dont even try to get more than $20 for it though.

  Nice first score Alabama Dude
You all have to start somewhere , I have gotten lockers like that before , We would just break up the Fall-A Particle Board armoire , bring the TV camping with Us , ( to a campground with cable ) throw in a cable lead and sell the TV for $ 20/$25  to another camper when We leave  , or just put next to the dumpster .
And yard sale/flea market the rest .

Congrats awesome price too. I like the sealed bids. In Chicago that unit would be $100.
