Would you buy batteries for watches that you find in units? I have several from a unit that are nothing special so would you buy batteries to check them out? What is a common price for used watches?

I've yet to find a watch worth buying a battery for. Most are cheap $5 - $10 Walmart stainless steel watches. I do have a small collection of batteries I keep handy for testing just in case. Of course I pulled them out of the watches I found in units.

If it's a Fossil or similar quality that I can get $25 to $40 for I will get a battery put in. A guy at my flea does it for
$3 and that includes the battery and the labor !
Watches like Timex, etc that sell in the $20 to $40 category I will try to get $10 to $15 and usually I will sell them without a battery, and direct them to the battery guy. I tell them if they come back in 15 minutes after visiting him I will refund their money if it doesn't work. I can see them and him from my spot. He won't charge them if the watch doesn't run.

I myself have not found any good watches, as far as brand. All the watches I have came across thus far I sold for 50 cents to $5. So I dont buy batteries. Now if I came across a watch that is worth say $20 or more on a resell value. Then I may get batteries for them. Doing so allows me to unload them faster at a higher price.
