Love them or hate them..... pays to read about them.

In my area they are pretty much a flop.

Who? SmartStop Self Storage or Storage Bungles?

Both, and any others as well; virtual storage auctions out of Texas has not been seen in the central valley of California, I think there were two in southern California.

I have seen one. RL Storage Auctions. They have a neat concept. They actually do a lock cut and inventory service for the storage facilities. I'm sure that level of service will develop a following. The down side to that is that they have to remain local.

I'm still betting the free concept will dominate this niche.

RL has had auctions in this area and have lost the facilities back to the regular, at the auction with the bad jokes, auctioneers.

A friend bought 3 of the RL offerings and was dis-satisfied with each....his complaint? Couldn't really tell from the pictures what the locker was like.

Now when Travis invents "smell-and-feel-ovision" the virtual auctions may take off, but until then I'm betting my stock buys on Google, Apple and Disney.
