Heres the reasoning from ebay if anyone is curious.

You recently listed the following listing:

261214727681 - Ku Klux Klan Hand Painted Canvas Framed White Robed Horse/Man

Unfortunately, we had to remove your listing because of the following:

Your listing identified the item as a Ku Klux Klan (KKK) item, or one that may promote the organization.

Regardless of the historical value of the item, if it is related to an organization of hatred like the KKK, it will not be allowed on eBay.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and ask you to please not relist.

Items promoting or glorifying hatred, violence, or racial or religious intolerance aren't allowed. Items that promote organizations with these views are also prohibited.

Some examples of prohibited listings include:

- Relics from the Ku Klux Klan or anything that bears the KKK symbol
 - Items promoting the Aryan Brotherhood or Neo-Nazi groups

This restriction includes items that have the organization's symbols blocked, cropped, or are otherwise not shown in the listing.

The market here really surprised me. I wouldnt mind a whole unit of this stuff, guys were chomping at the bit to get it!

Wanted to give everyone an update on this. I did put this up on ebay, in which the span of 6-12 hours it was removed by ebay. But in that time I recieved several messages from serious klan collectors. To make a long story short, it will be shipped on its way to a new owner tomorrow for the price of $275. The picture alone will be profit on the locker it came out of. I also made a new contact for any KKK items. A nice profit for something that could of ended up in the trash!

Great blog, thanks for the link. I especially liked the article about showing people the error of their ways when they waste your time, gas, lie etc etc.

Anything on the Nutone?

Negative. I'm prepared to sit on that one for a while.

Fayettenam is a city in NC near the Fort Bragg Army Base. Because of all the military personnel, the town had more than it's fair share of hookers. So I guess we can make the assumption that anything associated with the city of Fayettenam will be found laying down.

You are right on the money there, although it IS cleaner than it used to be (the hookers or the streets?).

I found this in a unit last week, shoved in between two couches. I was surprised to say the least.

Based off my research this seems to be a popular image, with the K's always being diagnol in the same spot. There are 4 K's on this one, instead of just three. Could of just been a pre-caution by the artist, or a leader reference perhaps? The material is like a velvet feel. Hand painted.

I run a big yard sale everyday where I live, but wouldnt dare put this out to be seen. However I do think it could fetch some kind of monetary value to the right person ($20-$50? Maybe more?). So what do you guys think, would you bother trying to sell it at all?

Sold the trash cans today. Had them on craigs for $40 each, accepted $30 each. The guy was happy and so was I! ;)

I went to an auction yesterday in Clinton NC. Only 3 bidders showed up including myself for 5 rooms. Before the auction started it was stated that no bid would be accepted that was below rent owed. To make a long story short, no rooms were sold at all that day. Two rooms were mostly empty, the other three would of been a small profit after paying what was owed. (Between $300 to $600.)

I wonder if me and you have had any run ins. I am from the Fayetteville area but travel to Aberdeen/Rockingham/Whiteville areas. I have been close to Raleigh as well with places like Smithfield/Wendell/Clayton. As to your problem at hand, return the favor. Any thing you see him bid on drive him up. And if he doesnt bid until you do, you have your answer.

2) why would they buy back what they own?   Seems people would steal them to sell them back......

Heh yea that is true. I have them listed on my local craigs, $40 each. A little high perhaps but i'm hoping to emphasize the shredded paper slot and the metal latch for lock up.

Thanks all, good advice. The nutone is surely an older model seeing as how difficult it is to find that exact looking model. On the bins, one of my yard sale customers suggested contacting cintas to see about a reward for lost cans. Could be worth a call.

You have got to be weary about craigslist for sure. We have the same thing happening in my area (Fayetteville NC) where people are begging for stuff, making up all kinds of stories about kids and disability, and then turning around and selling it. Its easy to spot, and some people are dumb enough to use the same phone number in both ads.

Tax season is a monster. A good reason for lack of auctions in general is everyone paying up on their units due to the big check. Went to an auction yesterday in Florrence SC (an hour + drive for me). 5 Units, maybe 7 bidders. Bought a buisness type unit for $85. Large trash cans, a little bit of office furniture. Some 'Open' signs. The big ticket item seems to be one of those Poles for changing letters on signs, along with a ton of letters.

Every unit sold that day was somehow buisness related. One had nothing but gym machines. Would of loved to took a chance on it but was un-sure how it would move. The other units were full of filing cabinets and office chairs of some type. No unit went over $200. No more auctions here until next weekend.

Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience selling these types of items, and maybe an idea on the value and best way to market it. The first is a Nutone Cleaning System/Vaccum of some kind. Did the basic search online, couldnt seem to find my exact model. When plugged in and turned on, it blows out hot air and sucks in. Seems to be a stationary piece, meant to be mounted.

Secondly, I have these large trash cans. They have slits in them for shredded paper and confidental documents. They have a latch, which can be pad-locked. They have Cintas security information and stickers on them, not sure if this is the maker of the trash cans themselves though.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
