Check the auction contract with the storage facility.  I am pretty sure once they take your money and you start going through the unit, it is yours, you official "own" it, and no auction house can then take it back or refuse your bid.

   I totally agree on the money thing.  I guess what I was trying to say is I have money I "could" use as seed money that wouldn't affect any bills/needs/etc, but I think it is even better if I sell some stuff, to get in the swing of things.

Thanks for your opinion, as for dump fees, I go to a dump for my normal trash here in rural NC, and they let me dump as much as 2+ truckloads without ever questioning me.  I think they would have no issue with it, and if they do, well, we don't need burn permits out here either!

Just a simple question.  What did you do to get your pocketful for the first auction.  Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you start with?

I don't need to sell things to get startup money, but in the spirit of the industry, and for practice, I am looking through my things and selling what I can get rid of.  A few computer parts on ebay, a few auto parts on craigslist, etc.  I would love to hear your story.

I was just rounding up to 100K for all of the "get rich quick" folks.  Trying to realistically show what kind of buying/selling power it takes to make what is really not even a rich persons income.  It is hard work, I want to do it because it looks like something I would really enjoy, and if I make a few extra dollars for it, more power to me.  I don't ever expect it to make me rich, but if for some reason, I was to ever find myself needing work, it would be nice to be able to ramp it up.

In our area I only see one in the next two months on a weekend, and it is actually a moving company, auctioning off "containers" that I guess were never claimed/paid for.  I would guess of all the auctions that one will be packed (since it is a weekend, I can see moms, dads, and little kids crawling all over in my head).

LOL!!  I have time between calls to "research" and work offline on other issues.  :-)  If I could have proof that the wireless card things would work from anywhere, I would just bring my laptop with me and cruise auctions while working from my "mobile" office.
