Wow people. Kinda sorry I started this thread.
Was just asking if anyone signed with ST and then got a sh*t load of emails.
I don't really care. Reason I use a dump mail acct in the first place.

And it all turns into this....? :)

Really, does any of it matter at this point? It is what it is.

If you can't change your circumstances, change your attitude.

So.....lance?  What's up with your test emails?

I been on ST not to long after it opened up, I have never received any spam from them. If I had, I wouldnt of been gone so long doing most of my chatting over there.

I have had plenty of luck with estate sales. However most of the stuff I am going for is usually overlooked and is priced fairly cheaply, I usually go on the second day. Most of the good stuff is already gone, The two companies I follow advertise with pictures. I dont like waiting till third day. I will go back for a third day if a few things caught my eye and figured they should be priced lower.

To be honest, this more than likely is not the business for you. You will have to open yourself up a bit. I can understand if flea markets give you the creeps, and not wanting to deal with people at your house or even at a public venue  (VIA CraigsList). This business is not for everyone. Number one thing most people need to focus on is several resources, not just one or two, or even three. You need several.

Good Luck :)

I have not read all the post, so if I mention something that somebody has already stated, then I apologize.

You have some good pros, but still it may be different then what you expect. General Merchandise will the majority of your lockers. Ebay can be a good source, and it helps that you work at UPS. However, you will need more than one resource to sale off your goods.

Your biggest con is you dont have a truck. I would suggest either A: Buy a truck, B: stick to smaller loads liek from garage/yard sales, estate sales, thrift stores, flea markets and small auctions (not storage lockers), or C: Rent a truck from U-Haul or the like. But do not rent the truck before you even get a locker.

Hope this helps.

When going through my lockers, all year long, I put some away for Birthdays and Christmas. Found some good things that my kids ask to have through the year. So it helps when I find them in the locker.

Cheers

I am ok with the cold weather. Dont necessarily like it, but still go out looking for new finds. Its all the damn rain that effects me going out. No covered trailer, and hate to get good things just to let it get ruined by the rain.

I take my two oldest with me nearly all the time. 10 and 9. They know the rules and they follow them. Sometimes they even point out something I did not see. Problem is though, when they tell me, they say it loud enough for everyone to hear them. Still got to work on that part with them.

We have pig farmers, I am sure, dont know any personally. And never seen a pig farmer on the river walk.

If it is an auction scheduled for the morning when they open up, I call the night before, about 10 mins before they close.

Otherwise I call 30 mins to an hour before the auction starts.
