I have to agree here, I am very worried about SB switching to this soft close junk. And like someone else said, it only benefits the sellers. Will be interesting to see how much this affects the prices. I have gotten some great online units for cheap.

Yep, I have a whole shed dedicated to holiday items. There always seems to be at least one Christmas tree in every unit. Now is the time to get it out, no use waiting till December!!

Are you making this **** up? A gang of motorized senior citizens at the local storage auction?  :67:

Can we expect 1-2 listings for the whole country? This is setting up to be a 'competition' against SUAL. But once again, this comes a couple years too late.

I've got a little 'feedback' for you Travis. If you're going to keep thinking up random questions to turn into forum topics, at least give an example/story behind the question you are posing. I'm tired of opening up a thread you've started where the main body is the same as the title. What gives!  :41:

Kind of off topic but I always wished there was a way to help regulate shady facilities/auctioneers if it had enough traction behind it. A 'calling out' of sorts, like an angies list. I doubt there would be enough meat and potatoes to do anything about it, but at least it would be a way for the info to get out there so local buyers would at least be aware of questionable auctions.

I have sold several crates for $3-$5 a piece at yard sales, it all adds up :93:

Any type of storage item sells quickly for me. Milk crates, totes, laundry basket, plastic dressers. Nice quick cash. I've been curious as to how people do with moving size boxes. Getting a huge amount for free from a recent move off craigslist is easy enough, then selling them for 50 cent to a couple bucks depending.

Not surprising this thread took two years to get a reply, I couldn't think of a single thing I would consider 'kind' being done in the cut throat world of storage auctions.

That's a smoking deal! Congrats!

It is as you say, just set your cap on what you can see from the door, and don't get in a pissing contest with others. I am at the opposite end today. After hundreds of live auctions, I just bought my first unit online. I'm either going to pick it up later today or tomorrow. Paid $70 for it, will prolly use about the same in gas getting it home, so not too big of an investment. We'll see how it goes! Good luck to you.

I can't find a thing.......sorry.

Hey thanks for the effort! I'm going to take it to one of those silver/gold places and find out if its the real deal soon enough. I've been trying to search for it in different ways/names. One old lady mentioned it could of been for saki (sp).

Full-timers know you have to add in direct expenses and even indirect expenses into the equation to determine profit or loss.

Good point here. 'Breaking even' on any unit is really a loss. I would even go so far as to say the direct profit of a unit needs to be at least a $50-$100 profit for it not to be a waste of time/wash.

I can't find a thing on this.
Is the entire thing metal?  Or is the cap plastic?
Can you tell what it's made of?  Base and top coat....

The entire thing is metal yes. As to the type of metal I'm unsure. Parts of it have a tarnished look like a silver / silver plate. Not a single thing on it was magnetic, from the base to removing/inside of the cap.

No markings at all on the shot holder, weighs a pound or two - about 6 inches in height at its highest point.

I wanted help finding/pricing the first item, and what you would sell the second item for. It seems to be a flask/shot holder. Has 4 small 'shot glasses' with removable top. It was non-magnetic.

What would you sell this for? Seemed to have a slight magnetic pull, like a stainless steel.
