Other Forms of Selling / Re: Social media sales

My wife started doing this for me recently, she set up a facebook page and uploads photos.

The response was great, lots of questions, lots of interest.  She sold two bedroom sets the first 3 days she had it up.

She also posts each week for people to send her a "wishlist".  We now have over 150 items on the wishlist where we have solid leads if we find them in units.

She always ends her posts asking for people to refer their friends to our page, so far it's had a steady flow of interest.

Depends on how they packed it.  I've seen multiple units owned by a business go up for sale with different winners.

They ended up having a swap meet because matched pieces were mixed between the units.

Stories about Storage Auctions / Back in the game

I took about a 6 month hiatus due to the crowds.  I was gonna start back in July, but saw an auction listed online for today, so a took a shot.

There were 17 bidders (facility took deposit and issued numbers).

Took a 10x20 for $1000.  There were tools everywhere.  They gave me until next week to clean it.  I took about a quarter of the unit today.

Found 2 boxes of Franklin Mint Classic Cars (30 total) with boxes.  Tons of matchbox cars in original packages.  Vintage Tonka trucks (7).  2 lawnmowers, 3 chainsaws, 3 blowers.  Took 3 boxes of hand tools, there are probably a dozen more left.  Also found $6.26 in change.

I think I covered the cost already, gonna take a run back in a bit for more.

North East / Re: Lets here it for Pa!

I'm in the Philadelphia area.

in SE PA, some of the auctioneers and facilities are not letting anyone under 18 and without a valid ID on the property during auctions.

There were some issues in this area a few weeks ago, so they are cracking down.
