Craigslist / Re: Listing On CL Advice

I would never take paypal as a form of payment for a pick up or delivered item.  All the buyer has to do is open a complaint for item not received and your payment will be refunded everytime.  The only way I would accept paypal is if I mailed the item. If you mail the item you have proof.

Trust me, been there done that.

Also, don't link paypal to your personal bank account.  If someone has a complaint against you paypal can and will freeze the account paypal is linked with.

In my area everyone sells clothes and they sell them $2 whatever you fit in a bag so I don't even bother with clothes.  Also, I will not sell for less than $1, I may go 2 fo $1 but that is as low aas I will go.

Where I sell other vendors will actually help unload the truck to have 1st dibs on my stuff.  This is what I do, when they ask how much I always tell them $10 to $50 more than I actually want because they want to resell the item.  When they offer me less I always tell them I just got here the market is still closed come back at 2 and I MIGHT take your offer. I NEVER give anything away.

Sometimes when I inflate my prices to other vendors they will pay it. After I accept the $ I don't care what they sell it for.

A week later and I am down to 1 skull. I sold 7 to 1 guy for $200 total, one for $30 and I repainted 2 for a Superbowl party, Giants and New England sold the pair for $120. I gave one away to my BIL and I have one left.  Total investment $10 per skull gross sales on 10 is $350.  Not bad.

Personally I think the best time to sell at the flea or have a garage sale is the 1st weekend of the month prefer the 4th to be on Friday and 2nd best is after the 15th

Wait a few days and send a friend over to buy for you ;)

I thought about that but she is 30 miles away and I don't have any friends in this area that would do it or has means of transportation to get there.  I'm sure she is cleaning them up and getting them painted somehow to try to sell.  After I posted my ad she took hers down.

Very much so, I live 5 miles North of Mexico and they steal big diesel trucks and use them for smuggling illegals.  I know someone who lives in Dallas who had his big 4x4 stolen they found it near the Mexico border beat all to heck with tons of empty water bottles

Some people just get weird that way.  I think its a cool idea and your making a profit so all is good. Is she still selling them or just not to you?

Way to go, though!!!

She said her brother painted all of them (20 plus) and sold them all yesterday.  I highly doubt that.

Flea Markets / INTERESTING DAY AT THE FLEA
« on: January 29, 2012, 01:25:53 PM »
A man was walking through the flea market today and noticed his big F250 driving off.  Luckily cars were in front of the punk and he couldn't get out.  The owner caught up to his truck, yanked the driver out, pinned him to the front of truck and PULLED A GUN. By the time I arrived the gun was put away and he had the punl by the collar up against the truck.  The cops arrived shortly after I did and took him away.  The truck was still running, crazy stuff.

In my experience Goodwill can be more expensive than retail at times.  If you can find a good yard sale sometimes you can score big for cheap and resell.

What the heck does it matter what you are doing with them!?

More important, what did she think you WERE gonna do with 10 cow skulls?!!

Just tell her you lied. In actuality your just using them for simple satanic rituals. That's all. Move along. No money being made here.....

I agree, I bought them at HER asking price, not my fault she been sitting on them for 6 months and can't come up with ssomething creative.

You know how it is at the flea, other vendors will help you unload your truck just to have 1st pick of your stuff.  If I sell it to you for $5 and you turn around and sell it for $10 what do I care?  I made what I wanted off of it, she is just being greedy lol

A guy offered me $150 for 5 and I couldn' say no to that.  Since I only have 7 left I think I will be raising my price to $60 each.  The lady I bought the skulls from found out what I was doing and won't sell me the rest.  I guess I should have bought them all yesterday.

Find you a local flea market, you will have more people see your stuff and normally renting a space is cheaper than advertising and fees.

Flea Markets / Re: How do you price clothing at flea markets?
« on: January 28, 2012, 12:03:46 PM »
Where I live everyone sells clothes at the flea, in Hildago Tx (right across the border from Mexico) the clothes vendors has piles of clothes that cover a 10x20 space. They put down a tarp and pile the up.  They give you a plastic bag like the grocery store puts your grocery in and you fill it up for $2 or $3.  Personally I donate all the clothes I get out of a unit unless it is NWT.
