The Treasure Chest / Recent find in newest locker...
« on: October 10, 2012, 04:16:19 AM »
Was going through some boxes of what I thought was just your usual camping gear, and came across this leather bag. Unzipped it,and found the largest fishing reel I have ever seen. After some research I found out that it is for big game fish. It looks like it has never been used, still has  the tag on it instructing to remove the handle when not in use.

It's a FIN-NOR 12/0 Special Trolling Reel,I have found out that they no longer make these reels,so they are considered "legacy" reels, and they usually retail for almost $2,000.00  ;D

If anyone is interested,I currently have it on Ebay...

I won a unit yesterday, and I have a MAYTAG Side by Side Refrigerator with Ice Dispenser. Needs to be wiped out,but other than that it looks like new. How much oes everyone typically get for such an item?

I looked it up,and it retails for $965,so would I be pushing it if I asked $500.00?

This is the first time I have got a refrigerator in a unit,so I thought I would ask here.

Stories about Storage Auctions / How far are you willing to travel?
« on: January 21, 2012, 10:59:39 PM »
Last week I went on a storage auction spree. First auction started at 8:00am in my town, next was in Cloverdale, they had some really good units, but went way over what I had to spend. Then there were four auctions in Santa Rosa, all at different storage places. I did'nt get home till 7:30pm. I was really disappointed by the units in Santa Rosa, there was 11 units auctioned off at one storage facility, and all of them were crap.

How far are you willing to travel?

Garage Sales / Throw it all in boxes, and let them dig for it
« on: October 08, 2011, 10:22:11 PM »
I have had yard sales, where I have put everything out on tables, and in category's,and hardly sold anything.
When I put everything in categories, but in bins or boxes, and just let people dig through the stuff,I sell lots of stuff, and make lots of money.

My Mom,and her boyfriend got a 10 X 20 unit last week for $20. So far they have paid almost $200 in dump fees. The unit odviously belonged to pot heads.

Luckily they have found a few treasures that is going to help get the cost of the dump fees back, and then some.
Clear in the back was a Singer sewing machine that is in a wooden case,in very good condition.

There is also a stereo unit that runs on electrical tubes, and there is also a tv or radio that also runs on electrical tubes.

So how much do you usually spend in dump fees?
