Craigslist / Are CL buyers really nuts or what?
« on: November 07, 2011, 10:25:49 PM »
I cant count the number of times someone saw a CL ad, and shows up and they get all squirley on me.  One guy had the balls to tell me that I listed an item cheaper than what I was asking.  After correcting him, he had the nerve to try and demand I give it to him cheaper.  I told him 'no, no, no.. we're not playing this game.  The price is what it is' and he got all "YOU SAID..."

I know what I said and that ain't it. F'in nerve of some people.

Rant off.

The Treasure Chest / Gotta love a good business locker..
« on: November 06, 2011, 09:19:09 PM »
I picked up a 10x20 for cheap.  I counted 9 filing cabinets in this unit, not a single lick of furniture, no matresses etc.

What I did get:

2 patterson kelly twin shell dry blenders ($$$$$)
ultrasonic equipment ($$$$$)
soda lime beads - they look like marbles, these sell for 40 bucks a pound on ebay (circa 25-30 pounds)
Scientific stuff, beakers, gauges, bronze fittings etc.

Best 360 bucks I ever spent and once I get these blenders sold, its going to be a hard unit to top. A quick search on the blenders turns up a $5,000 price tag.. and I got two!

The Lounge / LoneStarAds.US classified site
« on: October 25, 2011, 06:52:12 PM »
Free classified site is up.  URL is at lonestarads .us

Im still working out the finer details, but its free and its another channel to sell stuff.

Should have traffic getting to that site soon, real soon.  I've done this before with a puppy classified site.

If you have stuff to sell, list it for free with my site, I'll even throw in a store front (similiar to ebays) for free.  You can customize your own store front, create your own categories etc.

Check it out.. nothing to lose, right?  If you have any site suggestions then email them to me at [email protected] and I'll see what I can do.

The Treasure Chest / Found something good in a cops unit
« on: October 25, 2011, 06:11:58 PM »
Got a cops unit for 60 bucks a few weeks ago, this week.. finally started going through the boxes.  Not really happy with the merchandise..

Last tote (you know, the big plastic ones in EVERY unit)

Did I say last tote, I meant.. the VERY last tote.

A point blank bullet proof vest.  I looked down and saw the white ballistic inserts, and the shell sitting off to the side.

I pull it out and find out is a LVL 2 vest capable of stopping a .357 magnum.

Cant wait to sell that one!  60 bucks for this locker..

For anyone interested in the pictures (nevermind the site construction, still working on it):

General Storage Auction Talk / Question about listing on ebay..
« on: October 08, 2011, 04:32:01 PM »
What does everyone here do with there collections they find in storage?  I found a collection of 1/6 scale military dolls and gear.  I only found three dolls (action figures) but I have a huge lot of the gear.

It really threw me off that people collect this stuff.  Who would've thought?

I've put the pictures and this partial topic under what is it worth section but was wondering if it would be worth splitting all this stuff up or selling it as one massive lot?

Im leaning towards one massive lot.  I took pictures this morning and that took me a while. There is alot.

What would you do with this stuff if you found it in a storage locker?

heres the post with pictures (slightly image heavy).

What's it Worth?? / 1/6 Scale military dolls with TONS of accessories
« on: October 08, 2011, 08:20:09 AM »
I bid on a storage locker and pulled out two large totes full of 1/6 scale military gear for dolls.  I have a few dolls as well (not all).

The dolls vary in prices on ebay and I think I got a few winners.  The dolls will sell. The question I have is regarding all of this gear.  This stuff is exactly like the real thing, just scaled down.  The dolls will be listed on ebay ala carte but this gear, I don't know what to do with it.

A. I can sell this stuff ala carte/ batches.  EG. 3 or 4 tactical plate carriers of different styles.  Line of thinking is someone that collects this stuff would pay a bit more for a lot of vests/ clothes/ gear.

B. Sell this stuff as one huge lot.  I have no idea what I would make but it would be alot easier to box this stuff up and ship it.

Some of this gear didn't come with the retail box, its aftermarket gear.  Some of the aftermarket "gear boxes" retails well over $100.00.  I have around 10 boxes of this stuff.  Miniature weapons, clothes, helmets, goggles/ sunglasses, grenades, boots, molle gear, assault packs.. you name it.  If its carried into battle, there is a mini version of it and I think I have it.

What would you do?  Ebay wholesale the whole lot or break it apart and sell batches here and there.

Im leaning towards wholealing the whole lot.  I don't want to get eaten alive with listing fees.

Ill post some pictures in a bit.
