eBay / Re: Anyone know anything on buyer001*? Am I screwed?

True but I also wouldn't sell anything worth 5 figures on ebay.

Personally, if I bought a locker for $250 and came across a box of coins.. I'd keep em and sell the other crap.  I'm a silverbug anyways.. and if I found gold coins, I'd be a gold bug too.

Amen! Silver's gonna keep going up. I'd probably stop buying storage lockers if I found $15,000 worth of gold and silver coins. That's my ultimate goal.

Nice find! But I'd hold onto the sports cards and comic books. Wait for the market to go up again. If there were a plethora, there will hardly be a rare item.

I wouldn't trust it either just b/c of that magical word that coin collectors hate.....CHINA! However, you're the seller receiving payment. That's all you need to worry about and if they don't pay, you don't ship. Once you receive payment and the check or paypal transaction clears, you're Scott free.

eBay / Re: Frustrated

If I can't fit it in an envelope, I don't bother going through ebay. I took losses on my resale items due to shipping costs since I couldn't estimate properly. Anything going in a box is being sold at a flea market or through craigslist.

That's the thing. I'm just a ferry ride away from Seattle. I did get spoiled coming from San Diego where the auctions are pretty much everywhere.

Still not much luck with those keywords. I've tried them in the past, but I think I just live in a crummy area for storage auctions. I went on craigslist and dug up two storage auctions under the "for sale/wanted" section after typing in "storage". Both were for U-Store and about an hour to an hour and a half away!

I can see this turning into an "Ask Glendon" thread!

Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: Starting small with first unit

Nice deal for a first unit!  :o Can't wait to hear how much they appraise for!

I'm actually getting sick of the shows. I attribute it mostly to all the repeats and same scenarios. If I were to watch any more of the new Storage Wars, it'd be to watch Barry. He just cracks me up!

Wow...I found five auctions that are an hour away. Funny thing is I knew about that site but I kept getting spam from them and thought they weren't legit. I did have to go under each and every city in Washington to find auctions, but hey! I found some. Thanks  :)

The shows has gotton so BORING! The novelty has worn off. So to spice it up like I was saying my 90 posts ago there will be more drama. crap show

That's the thing...they're not even SHOWING the real drama. Instead, they keep playing re-runs but what people don't know is Jarrod knocked Dave out and he threatened to sue the show. I've seen upcoming previews for the new season and Dave is still in there so my assumption is Dave got a lot of money to keep his mouth shut! That would definitely explain the hiatus between new episodes...I really don't know if that's the explanation; but I definitely am tired of all the re-runs. Thanks, Dave, for being a crybaby. :'(

Sounds like you had a fun day! I'd be stoked to find a gift certificate to a nearby restaurant :)

I've only watched his YouTube videos and I like the scenarios he gives. That's really what I've been looking for and haven't found from watching the shows. The questions I had about the storage auction biz really pertain to something I have to find out on my own (what's the average bid? where do I find auctions? should I hire people?, etc.)

If you want to be successful in business, you take chances, spend money, lose money, learn from it, etc. I don't believe you can become successful from buying a book or watching videos.

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Disicions disicions

It sounds like whoever you overheard may have known that you were listening and told you something to scare you away from the biz. Or you may have heard him wrong  :-\ But yeah I've never heard of that and as a matter of fact, my MIL's b/f is very good friends with Darryl on Storage Wars and I even asked him that...he never had to pay a deposit.
