Thanks JR, if you come across any glitches or anything then let me know.  Im currently working on adding some more features to the site.

All new signups end up in the "everything is free" pricing.  When I pull that reg code, it will be different so go ahead and add all the features to your ads as they don't charge.

EX: featured on homepage, you can add that and rotate your listing on the homepage. Bold title and all the other little goodies..

Thanks again!

They'll take a CC until they get hit with a chargeback.  Wonder how they would handle that.

Your grandson is hooked now.  He will have to attend every single auction from here on out.  Congrats!

OK, I made some changes to the homepage.  I am now working on setting this up to where you can include a video to your classified.  This will be useful for items where static pictures just don't do any justice for the item - things like cars come to mind.

Everyone get to posting! It's free.  Use registration code TEXAS to put yourself in the no charge category.

Storefronts are free for the moment, sign up with that reg code and I'll make sure you stay free, even when I start charging. The stores will be free at least for the next year for anyone signing up now.  That can change in the future so be sure to lock in your free storefront now!

Im also going to be adding a "Items Wanted" category for those that collect very specific items.  This way, you storage folks can get together a clientele list for those sometimes hard to sell collectibles.

Here's what you do..

Next auction, she parks and auction goes on.  When you get around to leaving, wait for her to get in her car and then go up and park directly behind her car so she cant leave.  Get out, go inside, get a drink of water, use the restroom, chat it up with the storage manager and auctioneer, go outside and smoke a cig, hang out, chat with others, point at her car and laugh, whatever..

When she says anything to you, just reply "no habla"

That should fix it.

Im done with this show.  They bought two units and scored a dune buggy and a mustang pool table?  I call bulls**t.

I liked how the guy looking at the dune buggy asked "does it run" and Allen saying he had no clue.  RIIIIIGHT.  The VERY FIRST thing I would do is see if it ran.  Then again, I doubt I will find a dune buggy in a locker.

Sounds like an Auction Hunter episode.

Allen: "Ugh! This stuff is all junk. How much did we pay for this room?"
Ton (digging into a box): Holy Crap! Allen! Allen! I found a lockbox!
*smashes it open*
Ton: Holy Crap! Silver and Gold coins!

Dont stop there.. Cut to the negotiating with a buyer

Allen:  "Mr Coinguy, I have $15,000 worth of coins that could be yours for the right price"
Coin Buyer: "Ill offer you $8,000"
Allen: "I said the right price, apparently you don't want this box of coins."
Coin Buyer: "How about $8,500"
Allen: "How about NO, how about $14,500"

Wish they would show a REAL buyer laughing and telling him to get bent.  If I was a buyer and the seller was acting like that, I'd have to show them the door.  I'm sure it happens but we'll never see it.

Personally, if I bought a locker for $250 and came across a box of coins.. I'd keep em and sell the other crap.  I'm a silverbug anyways.. and if I found gold coins, I'd be a gold bug too.

What's it Worth?? / Re: kinda like a coin bracelet but not...any ideas

Look for the .925 or Sterling anywhere on it.  If it's silver, it should be labeled.

Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: Ripoff auction

I always like to see the facility cut the lock right before your eyes. The last auction I went to the owner was telling me and the rest of the crowd what was in each unit before they opened the door. It really rubbed me the wrong way. She said stuff like "This one doesn't have much in it." or "This has some interesting pieces of art in the back." I doubt I will go back there again. On the other hand two local facilities cut the lock right in front of you and every month they advertise 10 or more units each. I will not miss an auction here. My advice for storage facility owners is if you dont already, cut the lock in front of your buyers!

A few places will open the door, take a few pictures and close it, put their own tag and lock on it.  I too wish that they would not say "this one has this, or that" as it only runs the bids up but thats the nature of the beast.  The goal of the auctioneer is to make as much as possible off the unit.

I don't think they are rummaging through it, just probably something that caught their eye.  You have to keep in mind that no one can step foot into the unit until it is sold. Until it is sold, that merchandise still belongs to the previous owner and if they came in at the very last minute and paid their bill and then noticed someone had been rummaging through their locker, there could be a lawsuit filed.  This is considered trespassing, breaking and entering etc.

I really don't think the auctioneer or the storage company wants that monkey on their back.  I don't mind storage companies cutting the lock to get the door up and get a picture.

Im with you on them blurting out what is in there though.  I too wish they would keep their mouths shut but it won't happen, they are in this to make money too.
