eBay / Re: Any eBay sellers looking for a hot selling product?
« on: July 14, 2015, 05:31:09 PM »
Three questions...first is, does this product have anything to do with why your PP account got shut down? Second, what's in it for us? Third, how much time would be involved filling orders, a couple of hours a day, or all day?

1. No this product is not why my Paypal account got shutdown. As crazy as it sounds my volume. Paypal made over 70k off me last year. My account has always been in goodstanding. My ebay account was over 4000 100% positive feedback, I think in the last 3 years I've had only 2 chargebacks which I was able to provide tracking info on, etc. I was a stellar customer. I did over 2.5 Million through Paypal last year and was essentially told by the risk dept they don't like my volume. I had over 100k tied up in rolling reserves and they wanted me to keep 220K which is insane, like I would ever have that much in chargebacks, especially given my history with them.

2. What's in it for you. I undrestand the skepticism as nobody wants to help others out. Honestly though, I'm essentially handing a money machine over to anyone who wants to take this opportunity. A monkey could make $1,000 a month in less than 5 hours and that's conservatively speaking. There's easily an opportunity to make 2k a month easy as long as you don't have some new account and can only sell 5k a month or something like that.

I'm handing over a hot category which as you know nobody shares niches as it invites competition, however since I'm no longer going to be on ebay, at least not in the capacity i was, I'd rather someone make the money and at least I get to supply them. On every 10 units you move I'm making $50, your making $107 possibly more depending on where you decide to price Conservatively speaking you send out 100 packages in a month you make a grand to $1200.

I'm handing over a hot category and a great wholesale price which took me over 3 years of finding contacts to get.

I am trying to get back on ebay but the paypal alternatives of propay and skrill are a joke, I've been emailing skrill for 3 weeks and havn't gotten a response. With skrill after you go through the long signup process you then have to email them to turn on some feature of your account to allow ebay sales even though they are one of three ebay approved merhcants, you wouldn't think it'd be such a pain or they'd have such horrible customer service.

3. As far as investment of time I would say 4-10 hours a month depending upon how efficient you are. Essentially this boils down to sending about 3 packages a day, I can do that in about 5 minutes or less. Granted trips to post office take time but I have a mailbox store in my office parking lot and drop my packages there on my way home from the office.

*** Anyone who wnats to contact me if you have ebay or paypal limits that are small don't bother. I had an ebay limit of 2 million a month which obviously thats not needed but be able to move min 11k a month ideally 20k+. If you have a new account and have your money held for 21 days or can only list 3 items a mnth its not worth my time or yours.

Essentially there's one product you'll sell, probably offer 3 quantities priced at $35, $60 and $100 or $110. Basically every 10 listings you move you make $107. Move 100 items a month which is stupid easy in my category it sells itself and you make $1070. There's probably room t charge even more however I'm assuming a price point I know items will sell at all day long.

What's it Worth?? / Re: Cabbage Patch Kids Anyone?
« on: July 13, 2015, 08:44:57 PM »
I know this is an old post but saw something interesting on tv the other day or maybe it was a vice doc on youtube. Anyhow the cabbage patch kids we all knwo was actually stolen from a lady who made handmade dolls. Hers are where the BIG money is at!!! if you can find one of those origionals. I imagine some special editions are worth a pretty penny, I recently listed 3 I found for like 9.99 plus shipping and nothing sold after relisting 2 or 3 times :(

I've made the mistake of taking the time to sort thru thousands upon thousands of cards. These days I take a quick glance, if it seems like all late 80's to mid 90's stuff I just flip them cheap for whatever I can get as cheaply and quickly as possible. Way too many cards made during this era nothing is worth anything and very rarely do any of these collections contain any mickey mantles or anything crazy, who knows though maybe I've missed some gems but just takes too much time.

The "Other" Job / Re: Getting ready to leave "the other job"

Trust me, it's liberating! I haven't worked a regular job in 7 years and I don't miss it. It's feels wonderful to do what you want, when you want and not have to answer to anyone but yourself.

You ever feel the stress of knowing there's no guranteed paycheck or do you thrive on that? I find myself getting a little nervious at times but trying to get a few different hustles going so if one thing slows down I still have other stuff going on.

You could sell as a parts bike iwth no title or if you don't mind doing the legwork a bike often goes for 3x or 4x as much with a clean title. Most states list online on the dmv site how to go about doing it. The storage unit receipt will be your bill of sale. There may be like a month waiting period however due to the circumstances. I recently had to get a replacement title for my own bike and got it quickly but I recall reading something about how there's a waiting period if you don't have any registration papers or anything from the past in your name

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Unit full of bikinis

I personally would never buy used swimgear but I suppose platos closet probably sells some used suits if they are brand names. I would say if its hooters or a hot brand keep them otherwise toss them in the trash or put them in a quarter bin at the flea market. I suppose you could also market it to the same crowd who buys used womens panties

The peak is long over and has been for years. I think it will remain about the same. The shows have been on for ages, the lookie loos and curious people have come and gone. Anyone who's still interested is probably here to stay whether tring to earn a living or just a fun new hobby to pick up some cheap stuff for personal use.

I know they did this a few times on storage wars. I really don't get the appeal. If I'm on vacation the last thing I want to be doing is working, plus further from home means you're having to haul everything all the way home or having to flip it all quickly and you don't really have your connections and know where to go with stuff in a new city. If I were in a really interesting area where I thought I may find something I'd like personally maybe I'd check one out.

thats crazy. id love to checkout an auction like that, in my area only like 8 maybe 10 per unit and thats big. most of ours are like 1-3 units. i imagine something like that would draw one heck of a crowd though.

eBay / Any eBay sellers looking for a hot selling product?
« on: July 13, 2015, 08:12:53 PM »
Hey guys, been gone from the forum for a while been busy with other projects. I know many of you have established ebay and paypal accounts. If anyone is looking for a hot selling product I have one to supply with great margins.

Reason being my Paypal account got shutdown which essentially means I'm off of eBay. I'm working on getting setup with skrill however they have terrible customer service and it's been dragging on for weeks. I have other merchant accounts but you need PP to be on ebay.

Long story short I'd be happy to supply someone else who wants to sell on eBay. I can provide you with terapeak data showing this is a hot selling category and how much money there is to be made. If anyone is interested feel free to hit me up and I can provide more details. I was doing 15k+ a week for the past several years. I'm still selling just not on ebay.

Hey guys, quit my job a few weeks ago, busy running my business however have a bit more freetime to focus on other things like storage auctions and creating digital products and things like that. I've been putting a bit more focus on FreeStorageAuctionLists.Com which is a site I have been neglecting for a while. I'm trying to do some more blogging on there and posting more auctions.

If any of you guys have your own blogs or websites or youtube channels and want to do some guest blogging I'd love to have you. Feel free to post articles about your advice or tips, plus a program or site of yours, etc. If anyone is interested in doing some guest blogging pm me, we can get some posts, more than happy to post your links and plug you, your blog, your product, etc.

Hey Travis, you've done a great job putting together and improving this site and have been a great guy to chat with over the years so I would be honored to help spread the word and tell people about your site.

Not sure if it would be worth the cost but if you'd like to get some cards made up or stickers or even have like a PDF file with a prinable card I'm sure myself and some others would be more than happy to pass them out to others at auctions or facility managers. just a thought.

If you have any banners send one my way I'd be happy to throw a banner up on to help promote the site and the auctions. I know its not the best or highest traffic site out there but everything helps.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Designer purses, shoes and perfume

You should make a killing with that stuff on eBay assuming its like Prada, Louis Vuitton, etc.

I had a locker some years back full of Doonie and Bourke purses, now granted D&B isn't in the same arena as Louis and Prada, but still a pretty expensive brand, I've bought those purses for girlfriends in the past and paid $200 and more for Doonie purses on sale.

On Ebay however I had auctions going for like $12 to $15 for Doonie and Bourke purses, really kind of shocked me and was very disapointed in the results. I think Doonie and Bourke obviously isn't same level as the brands you meant and isn't as popular but was surprised how low that stuff went.

On ebay however I think you should do pretty good. My biggest fear with ebay is someone claiming counterfeit as ebay is insane about protecting brands like that and will kncok you off without ever even asking for your side of hte story. I'd first make sure they are all real.

If you dont wanna go the ebay route in my area we have a lot of these higher end resale shops where its all louis stuff. They sell on consignment and give you like 70% as long as you dont want the cash upfront. At the one near me they actually have a waiting list for Louis so pretty much everything I would bring in would be spoken for before it even hit the floor. See if you have any of those in your area.

This always blows my mind that people want to give rich celebs or high profile people stuff for free. They are the people who need it the least and are more well off than you so why in the world would you give them something for free.

Craiglist purposely disguises your true email even through chains of email to protect your privacy so don't go out of your way to give away all your info. Someone buying a couch doesn't need to know your first and last name let alone even your phone number. I'm not that paranoid or worried about stuff so I could care less about my number but some people do take the added steps of using a voip or free app like easytext to get a throwaway number.

I would just sit on the stuff for a few weeks let things cool down and let it be forgotten about and then repost.
