General Storage Auction Talk / Question For Everyone
« on: May 29, 2011, 09:46:45 PM »
Out of all of the lockers you have ever bought, what is the coolest thing you have ever found?

I found a 36 inch round gilded mirror from the 1700's. Not very expensive, but definitely cool.

Our storage auction list provides you with the name, address & phone number of the storage facility, the time and date of the storage auction and the number of units scheduled for public sale at the time the information was collected. Say goodbye to overpriced newspaper subscriptions.

Our new storage auction listing service which covers the Dallas / Fort Worth area will be accepting new members on or before July 10th, 2011. The temporary site is live http://storageauctionsdallas.com/

We are currently in the process of building the database of an estimated 1100 storage facilities. When we are finished, Dallas Storage Auctions will be the only source that provides a complete list of every storage auction within 60 miles of DFW. We actually call every storage facility in order to provide storage auction buyers with the most accurate information available.

Getting auction listings from the newspapers in the DFW is really expensive. Just to get the legal notices from 3 of the 40 plus newspapers in the area, it costs over $800 a year (and you're still missing auctions). With rates as low as $7.49 per month, Dallas Storage Auctions is the obvious choice for storage auction buyers. Not only are we more affordable, but we provide every storage auction listing in the entire area. Storage auction buyers will no longer have to search several sources to find mediocre results.

With one click of a button, storage auction buyers will have access to the most comprehensive auction list available.

Stories about Storage Auctions / Funny story
« on: May 21, 2011, 10:55:55 PM »
I just remembered something really funny about an auction that I went to like 3 months ago. They raised the door on this unit and it was full of about 30 used toilets. Nobody would bid on the unit, then finally some guy bid $5 on it and got it. I know that toilet parts can bring good money, but damn, that's some nasty work. Not only that, the guy got labeled as "the toilet guy" permanently.

I was just wondering if anyone has seen any signs of a recovery in your area? Have you seen lower attendance or prices in the last month or so, has it been consistent or has it gotten worse?

The Lounge / How successful are your Adsense accounts?
« on: May 08, 2011, 12:41:55 PM »
If you have Adsense on your website, I could really use your advice. I have been running Adsense for a month now and I just got my finalized earnings. We only had 2 clicks last month and we made $3.67. Apparently, we made $3.35 on one click alone. We are only running Adsense on the HSA blog, but it got about 1,000 hits last month. Is 2 clicks normal for 1,000 hits?

What kind of numbers are you getting? What are your average earning for those numbers?

I have heard the old theories that a well organized unit indicates that it may have better quality merchandise but some of the best lockers I have ever bought looked like trash from the door.

What signs do you look for that would indicate a locker has hidden value?

General Storage Auction Talk / How are the crowds in your area?
« on: April 26, 2011, 11:27:53 AM »
I was just wondering if anyone has noticed any changes in the crowds over the past month. I went to a couple of auctions that were way off the beaten path and even though there were only about ten bidders, the prices were still outrageous.
