General Storage Auction Talk / $625 for a 5' X 10' Locker
« on: April 26, 2011, 12:46:35 PM »
I was at an auction yesterday and a locker (5' X 10') sold for $625.

Visible contents was a king size (bed) headboard and approximately 25 totes (30 gallons, with lids).

Pardon my NEWBIE ignorance, but isn't that a little high for a locker with minimal visible items?

I know it's a gamble, but it seems like a lot of work.

eBay / Re: Do you leave feedback immediately upon recieving payment?
« on: April 24, 2011, 09:22:13 AM »
I leave feedback after receiving feedback from the buyer.

I agree that if you leave feedback first,  the buyer (more times than not) won't leave feedback.

I usually contact the buyer after a week or so and ask if they were satisfied with their purchase and kindly ask if they will leave feedback.

I had a repeat customer continuously not leave feedback after I left feedback for him.  So, I asked him why and he stated that he doesn't leave feedback for any purchase because Ebay treated him bad.  He has over 1500 feedback.

I have over 1000 feedback and appreciate every feedback I get.

eBay / Re: Anyone else got a phone call from Ebay recently?
« on: April 24, 2011, 09:11:50 AM »
I received the same phone call from Ebay and it was legitimate.  They sent an email after the phone call.

I was told that if you don't have at least 100 items in stock at all times that it isn't feasible to have a store.

Welcome to the Online Storage Auctions Forum / Newbie from NC
« on: April 24, 2011, 08:41:12 AM »
My name is Gary.  I've been buying and reselling on Ebay and Craigslist for more than 7 years.  I've been laid off since January and bored.  So, I decided to hit the storage auctions and see what all the hype is about.  I've been to approx. 10 storage auctions and haven't seen anything to brag about.  I just hang out in the back and watch.  It seems to me that people are WASTING THEIR MONEY!  I can already tell who the newbies are compared to the veterans.  I've done alot of research and I'm ready to buy a locker.  I don't see that happening anytime soon with all the newbies thinking they're going to get rich.  :-\
