Try taking them to some fishing gear stores, especially the mom and pop type stores, and stores that deal with antique and vintage fishing gear. THey may be able to give you an estimated value on what you have, and they may even offer to buy it from you or know someone that will.

I agree Drew, it more than likely would of doubled or tripled his sales if he did come in and communicate with others. But then again he may already be tired. If you think about it, he blogs, runs a school (I think he still does) runs two websites, writes books, and video blogs on youtube. I dont think I personally could keep up with all that myself. I know I would try, but I also know I probable burn out and start letting a few things drop.

Although I still find it very wrong how he came on here and said the stuff he said, then disappeared. Oh well, not really my problem, and truthfully I dont care. I wish any man or woman luck in what ever they choose to do. For me its a vast amount of things. For GC, obviously an entrepreneur, Drew a good webmaster, TC a good webmaster and researcher, rules a good webmaster and writer, the list goes on.

More than likely they are handmade. But even then, good quality handmade fishing poles can be worth some money. Around $20 to about $200. Depending on quality and age.

Well, maybe it's just me, but if you spend this much time (taking the photos of the "guitar" and I think even making and posting the youtube of it (your measuring tape?), then I think you may be overthinking the sales process.

If I had found this item I would have sold it for a $1 and been happy.  You must have tons of smalls in that locker and spending this kind of time on many of them seems counterproductive to me.

This is not always true. Some things are worth a good researching over. This is including some toys. Some toys that alot of people look at and say, oh, its only worth 50 cents to maybe $5. Then turn out it be worth some real money.

For example I was talking with RN yesterday about a doll I have, and he said he learned about them at the same time he learned of "Little Miss No Name Dolls". These I never heard of, so I decided to google them. Alot of those dolls go for about $55 and up. Some are as high as $375. Well looking at the pictures of different No Name Dolls, I realized something. I saw three of these dolls at an estate sale a few months back. They were selling them for $5 each. I past on them cause I figured I would not make any money off of them, damn was I wrong. So sometimes the research on what you have can make or break you.

However Ryante, I did a little research on this item as well as the company. Sorry to have to tell you, but you did not strike gold with this toy. Toss it in the $1 pile at your next sale.

For the record....I post comments on several auction related forums and besides the unsolicited emails, I don't see anything wrong with helping a struggling website out...Hell, if you have ever been a webmaster, you've been in the same situation. I usually bring at least $1,000 with me each time I go out. Very rare I will bring less than that.

Before you start using those drop shippers. Take a look at how much they are charging you for you to sell their stuff, then take a look at their inventory and their prices that YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR, then take a look at ebay for that same inventory.

I expect you to find that majority of those products are already flooded ebay, and most of the time either dont sale at all, or way below the price that you would have to pay for. For example, say its a Flat Screen Plasma TV.
Your Price= $599.99
Suggested Retail Price= $1,200.00

So obviously you want to sell it between what you have to pay for which is $599.99 to the Suggested Retail Price.

So you go down to ebay, expecting ya, I am sure I can make at least $200 dollars on this. ANd then there it is, the same make and model New Flat Plasma TV that you have from your drop shipper. But wait what the hell is this, They are selling it for only $300.

So yes yu can set your price that low, but if you do and it sells, you are at a major loss.

and now you are paying out $299 to the drop shipper since you sold it for $300, and your cost to them is 599.
So you have made no money at all, just spent money.
