eBay / Re: Picture of Forum Comment Sells for 90K on Ebay!
« on: August 06, 2014, 10:14:51 PM »
Are those item numbers or numbers associated with the forum post?

Apparently they are not item numbers:

Here's the listing:

Thought this might brighten your day. I got a kick out of it. Apparently an anonymous individual took a picture of a forum post about art and sold it for $90,000 on eBay. At this time it's unknown whether the buyer has or will pay.

https://www.yahoo.com/tech/internet-forum-comment-about-art-sells-for-90-900-in-93875593079.html

Check out either of the two item numbers shown in the picture and see what you get.

Why does it take so long for their photos/zoom to load?

Maybe because they have so many auctions listed.

I found one website that is all about auctions however I'd like to see some more storage auctions on there.

Uh, I think that is YOUR website, but whoever it belongs to is a few years late getting on the auction bandwagon. The tide is going out, slowly but surely.

Any guesses? My guess is that no one cares.  ;D

And you would be right. This is about as much a non-topic as you can get.

Also make sure he words his listings differently.

I was banned .. 99.8% positive for shipping late during HURRICANE SANDY .. ya know when we didn't have power for 3 weeks.. they immediately banned me and removed 100+ listings.

I set up a new account, new pay pal ..etc. and was given the initial $5k authority.  I listed 3 things and it said that my wording in descriptions was similar to a banned account and that they would temporarily suspend me while they investigate.  3 hours later that account was locked and all my new listings were removed.

I loathe ebay and pay pal.

Do you have an eBay account now?  If so, how soon after the "banning" did you get a working account established?

Asking price on amazon for that book is $150

Why not talk about the others listed on eBay, including the first one showing below his listing. That guy is asking $2,000…but he gives free shipping !

How about the ones that have completed?  Those two are in the $125 range.

The final sales price was $3,000. Of course, the buyer lost 20% since he sold it on Storage Battles. He would have done better on OSA if he wouldn't have set a 3K opening bid.

He didn't lose 20% and he didn't sell the unit. If it sold the deal fell through.  This item is listed on Craigslist in the San Francisco section. It was posted on June 26.

I emailed the guy and asked if it was still available. It is.

"Yes, It is available... and could all be yours for a fair price.   if you are a serious buyer, and ready to invest in a good opportunity to make some serious loot... then give me a call @ yyy-yyy-yyyy.  thanks,  abcd"

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: What am I missing..

$1,610.00 so far with 19 hours left. Something smells fishy here.

I've been out of touch for a couple of days. Wow does anyone know the final price.

I've seen lockers go up over $500 in the last ten minutes of an auction

Uh....check reply #18 two replies above your post.

Wow, I think this is going to be one of the best polls we've ever had. Probably because it's so easy to answer.

Wow ?

Maybe compared to other polls on here it is a lot, but with 17 votes and over 3,000 members it works out to a .51%....less than 1% response.

I would think something like a 10 to 15 percent response would be a "wow" factor.

Craigslist / Re: Business for sale on Craigslist
« on: May 30, 2014, 08:03:17 PM »
there is flat out something fishy about this whole offer. you are making approximately $70 per hour running this thing and are willing to sell it for a pittance. If you have actual numbers showing 70K in profit yearly you will have no problem selling this business for 350-700k. Or is the 70k estimated and youve only been open a few weeks/months? I'm just confused i guess

If you read the whole thread you would see that Travis (from here) posted this ad. He wants to sell his auction listing business where he sells lists of places having storage auctions to people who are to lazy or don't have the time to look at legal notices or websites of their area auctioneers.
