Just like the last 5 times we've had this conversation, we'll just agree to disagree.   :victory:

Maybe the SIXTH time you've had this conversation one person will admit the other is right.

Agree with op on all counts.

What gets me is a day with 6 posts; 3 from Travis and 3 responses from Alloro.

Who do you think this mystery man is? Don't laugh, you know you had hair like that in the 80's too.  :040:

... but if he registers the car he has to pay cali for all of the years back reg fees

Unless he filed a non-op on it somewhere alog the way, otherwise that would be a lot of years of fees.
He might have had the car at home or somewhere and just brought it to the storage place. Hard to imagine he was storing it there for 9 years  and payig on it all that tme.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Magazines?

I think any magazine that deals with a certain interest would sell on eBay. After all there must be a lot of new doll collectors or new biking fans who want to read up on their hobby from old issues.

But i've seen people listing 20 issues one issue at a time and that seems strange to me...sell them in bulk !

eBay / Re: Which is better?
« on: September 06, 2013, 09:52:16 AM »
Unless weere talking like Tonka trucks a hotwheel car should be 3 ounces or less, even with bubblewrap and a manilla envelope. You shouldn't be paying anymore than $1.69 to ship first class. How are you paying $4?

I wouldn't be a happy buyer if a hot wheel showed up in a manila envelope. I think a small cardboard box would be
better and how happy would the seller be if he got a negative feedback?

Also I think the seller would be better off doing what he said selling 3 or 4 in a bundle then they all go in a box and all are protected.

It's tough work, and you have to know what you're looking at. I'm in North Carolina, and it gets really hot here too, and humid! But, this is a year round business if you're tough enough, and dedicated. If you've been in the game a month and you haven't lost money, you're doing okay. If you're focusing on selling your items through craigslist and yard sales only, you may not last too long.

I haven't found anything good enough to put on ebay but I have an account there and have bought some things, so tht might be the next step if I keep buying.

If i had gotten a locker with super stuff in it i might be more inspired, but I'm ok with it so far and will keep it up as long as i think it is a money-maker.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: A compliment for a manager

I found a good manager to. I think the ones who are at independent places are better than the ones who work for chains. They seem to have more leeway and if they haven't been jerked around by buyers in the past they will work with you. If someone scrwed them though..watch out...i ran into one of those guys to.

General Storage Auction Talk / bought some lockers in august
« on: September 02, 2013, 11:13:01 AM »
I lost my job a month ago, the store went out of business, so I have bought a few lockers to make some money.

Got a couple of small ones a 5 x 10 and a 10 x 10 for ok money but the return wasn't all that good. I put some items on craigslist and held a couple of yard sales.

In this hot weather I don't think I would want to do locker buying every week. Its a lot of work !
