Didnt get the unit! went for 2705.00  Way Way to much . I forgot never go to auctions the day after the storage tv shows. This was the persons first unit he has bought online. Here is the final winning bid.

i think you dodged a bullet

im not trying to be a negative pita here but im just not seeing it being worth what its already bid up to

1 the planet of the apes figures arent the old ones they are from the newer movies (i beleive the older ones had molded hair )

2 the barbies might be worth something IF they are some of the really high end limited release ones if they are just regular ones really not worth much more than used dolls

3 the cuckoo clock looks kinda cheesy look at they eye on the rabbit and then go look at some of the other ones on ebay

4 the lunchboxes

top on is a star wars but its got a bar code on it so its not real old , its kind of grungy looking too

not sure what the middle 2 are

bottom ones a fall guy which last auction i saw a mint mint one go for $70 this ones not going to be as nice and may or may not have the thermos

also notice you cant see anything in the cardboard box next to the lunchboxes through the hand holds

im not sure why that globe has a power cord wrapped around it but im not interpreting it as a sign of high quality

i cant make out the brand names on the stereos but the dont look high end

the mechanical banks look interesting but id tend to think they are repops (from the other things im seeing in the room)and not the real deal

the mantle clock looks interesting

adding machine one sold recently for $65 on ebay not missing buttons  ebay item # 290675319576

the records could be anything from awesome to awful

it seems like an awfull lot of money for what im seeing there

if the original poster likes i will delete this post  but i thought he was asking for opinions
my appologies if i ticked anyone off it wasnt my intention

this is it for me , theres another lower priced place with slightly smaller spots but its still $45 and they dont get the foot traffic, the other alternative is going to jersey where anything i saved on rent would be trashed in gas and bridge tolls (probably an extra hour in traffic on the way home to boot)

if you want something by all means go for it , i dont begrudge anyone anything (well some of the new ridiculous horde i do , but regulars no)

if you want EVERYTHING your going to piss off everyone in the room and it will absolutely cost you in the long run

Im not a major player in the auctions i go to but i do have money in my pocket , half a clue what im doing and while i learn something new every time i go out , im not new anymore (started in 2006)
If someone being greedy and  isnt going to cut me some slack and let me get a room at a decent price that i can make some money on then i will more than happy to bid on anything that marginally interests me and your interested in . Plan on paying 200-400 more than you needed to per room ,multiply that by however many rooms you got and ask yourself was the room you couldnt let go worth the money you just paid extra that day (and everytime i see ya untill you change your tune)

now aside from the 2 whales and the 2-3 people who like the pure crap lockers , theres 8 -12 regulars just like myself at my auctions, being greedy will ensure you dont get anything affordable at any auction on any day within about 50 miles of where you got greedy for months and months

i have 2 whales on my circuit and i tend to get along with both of them , i dont bid against them unless i want something and they know it and tend to leave me alone when im bidding
every so often the older will tell me not to bother showing to a facility because he will be buying everything (not often but i have heard it from him once or twice ) and if i go to that place its just to look at that point, some people get bent about it ,i really dont though and just look at it as a heads up from him, (Ive gotten plenty of rooms at auctions this whale is at and they have been good ones to boot)so i dont begrudge him anything

back in i think 2008 we had a guy  come down in a semi and try to buy everything in every facility on the circuit and he definitley got me and everybody else bent and was run up and eventually out of the area rather quickly by every regular in the place (rooms were cheap before this guy showed and you could always get a few for under $100 each day) when this guy magically showed up the cheapest room i saw went for 4-500) I paid 475 for a 5x5 that day that normally would have been 100 tops

another tip i meant to share and forgot about isif you have dufflebags , rolling suitcases,or those fold up shopping carts , display them in the front of your stall , easy sales to people who bought more than they can carry

Here's a pic from the 2nd best flea market in my area; #3 and #4 haven't rated a pic yet.

Take the image below and then expand it back 50 feet with more of the same; wonder how many
pair he sells in a day.

wow!
where i go i could get rid of near all of that in a day 5-15$ a pair

Other Forms of Selling / Re: Community yard sales ?????
« on: February 25, 2012, 07:42:46 AM »
i love shopping at community sales, i dont know what i would bring to one to sell though.
if your bringing high end stuff ,especially larger items be sure to bring plenty of business cards there will bee a lot of people that just see the sale and wont be in shape to buy/transport larger or more expensive items if they show up on a whim
