eBay / eBay Double / Triple your money tip
« on: June 02, 2013, 04:09:40 PM »
I just got done reading a post in another category here that involved Nike Clothing... which got me thinking  about my ALMOST (lol) sure fire / guaranteed / slam dunk profit / money maker .. not huge but steady for years now.... I periodically hit all the Good Wills ,Salvation Armys,Charity thrift stores, etc.  looking for NIKE Dri Fit clothing.. any size, any logo, any style, any color ( golf, work out training, athletic long or short sleeve, men's ,womens,whatever).. the shirts are usually $2 to $5.00 ... as long as they are in good condition with normal usage they'll bring double sometimes triple on eBay.... I got tired of listing them individually, so I now stockpile them at my storage locker and when I get 6 or 8 or 10 of the same size I sell " Lot" shirts with a Buy it Now of triple what i have invested and after a week online I allow them to make an offer... always getting double my input for any offer..they ship cost effectively because of the ease of packaging and being so lightweight... check out this link for an ebay search of "used lot nike dri fit shirts " for examples ...  >>>  http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=lot+nike+dri+fit&_sadis=200&_ipg=200&_adv=1&_sop=16&LH_ItemCondition=4&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&LH_Sold=1&_osacat=0&_from=R40&LH_Complete=1&_dmd=1&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=lot+nike+dri+fit+shirts&_sacat=0   <<<<

Nathan,Nathan,Nathan, what am I gonna do with you?   :D :D .. I get offended by self appointed ,"important" know it all professionals.. so yes you did prove your point... if your questions were private ,why expect answers in public ? going to friendly competitor facilities and asking " how's it going ?" should not be made to sound like a Board of Director's meeting of a Secret Selling Society.... the industry I successfully retired from is larger than yours ( hahahaha   :P  ) and tighter and with more tips to share.... if you want to know the secrets to "closing a sale", (even though semi-retired,that's my real job)..  For $4,000.00 ( plus travel expenses) I'll give you one week  of ( to quote my presentation intro letter) "The MAIN thing is to increase your company value.Consultative Selling emphasizing client needs and meeting those needs with solutions combining products and/or services."...Listening,understanding, and providing, with  the goal of excellent ROI, happy customers, engaged employees and simple procedures" and lastly there is absolutely zero being accomplished by your posting here ( and my childish replies ) so let's not continue in this style..if it ain't positive , don't say it,,,agreed?

wait , wait ... let me get this straight ..
the highly amusing poster states " I wanted to officially identify myself " then never once actually says his/her name..
then.... " I would like to come out "... um ,ok you've come out of the locker,congratulations..... then... "hope I do not offend anyone "..you're hopes are "dashed", you offend me and I'm just a member here, with zero agenda.... then... " Acting in a devious way but rather cover up with a positive to hopefully void out the bad intentions"... dude, you're doing  EXACTLY what you accuse someone else of doing... then .. you ask several specific questions and 1 paragraph later say "Im still waiting for my questions to be answered." ... poor baby needs immediate attention,right?... and finally " numerous discussions with facilities less than even an 1/8 of a mile away "... um just how many facilities are located within 660 feet area of where you're at?.... looking forward to your future posts, they have such comedic value, thanks

Movie Man..you're right,my post here towards her was way too personal... Sarahwhatever please accept an apology.. sometimes I like to rant

24
unethical - "not conforming to approved standards of social or professional behavior".....
let's see Sarahwhatever comes in,veiled in anonymity, with a hidden agenda ,and starts pointing fingers, proclaiming wrong doing, injustices, and basically throwing a pouty, whiny childlike "I'm angry" fit.
Wasn't there a woman who came on here recently, who obviously worked for the "competition", and then proceeded to write paragraphs about everything storage as if she was the exalted, ultimate, high ruling authority?
Well we're all entitled to our own personal opinion .... so ...my opinion is that..... your opinion, except for the humorous content, has no influence on where and what I choose to research storage "stuff" online

25
I like Travis' idea for you... bombard craigslist with each item you'll bring to the "favorable demographic" area and the time/location.... as for being non social the key to any sale is building value.. so when people show up at your selected location simply have a printed piece of paper right next to or under your item showing an ebay/amazon/etsy etc. of the same/ similar item asking several dollars more than your asking price... then when they ask "what's your best price?" ... simply say ( without rushing the response) " well as you can see, I'm asking far less than market value, what were you thinking dollar wise?''..people tend to believe printed info and and your presentation is low key/ non confrontational...

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: How to get it moved
« on: May 24, 2013, 08:12:05 PM »
I usually handle everything myself...however on those occasions when I need help,I just call a guy that I met a few years ago..he's a Director of  a Halfway house...most of the residents have struggled with alcohol and are trying to get there lives back together... and all are at least a few months clean & sober... these guys are broke, so appreciative of a little cash, actually love the exercise that's involved and are determined to do the moving, lifting, clean up perfectly and very quickly. It breaks up the tedium of the structured environment they're living in & obviously they want to be asked back again.. I've had nothing but the best experiences with these guys, everybody wins.

ok ,let me get this straight, you've got a straight up $550 offer at your place.... the guy offers $50.00 if you deliver, makes all types of explanations as to what it will take to "refurbish", nitpicks the product, fails to see value, realizes that doing this type of work ain't like TV,then quits his 1 week career in the auction business to go back to selling insurance?... don't insurance guys portray themselves as long term planners, showing benefits of doing business with them because of their great stability and commitment to do the best job possible for their potential clients?.. I think I'll submit a new rule to Jethro Gibbs to be placed right next to his "lawyers" rule..."never involve insurance salesmen"

well a week later things have gone great with this stuff I got from the consignment guy from CraigsList... the RailRoad Books I sold to one collector for $700.00...some cameras and accessories have sold for $320 so far but here's one I didn't even realize how good a score it was ... an 8 Track!!! ( I hate 8 tracks more than books,lol..well maybe not so much anymore, hahahaha )...the auction description ......

"NEW in BOX PONTIAC 1972,1973,1974 8-track demo tape GTO,Grand Prix,Firebird.
 So COOOOOOLLL!!!!.
Original,Real Deal,Authentic Plastic Wrapped,Unopened,Unused
After some online research I'm pretty sure that:
This is an early 70's Pontiac 8-track tape cartridge that was used for demonstration of the 8-track tape player in your new Pontiac. This was given to customer if car was equipped with an 8-track. I do not have an 8 track player to test this. A great display item at the car show in your classic GTO,Grand Ville,Bonneville,Trans Am , Firebird,Grand Prix or any other Pontiac.
Though it appears to have been safely & securely stored ,I have no idea if it functions."

 THE RESULT......
....... it hovered in the high $20.00 range until the last few minutes of the auction..... then ...BAM ....
final selling price..... $282.77 .... amazing... and the guy paid like 3 minutes later... crazy, right?
( i can't figure out how to insert an image so below is a link to the auction result)... how the hell are images attached? ( yes,i hit the icon but then i get this >>>    <<<< ,now what???

Looks like the seller has already had 2 unsuccessful auctions starting at that price, hard to believe they're not selling. I mean after all it does include FREE shipping  :D
