Travis, another "service" you should really push with your site is that OSA.com will assist the facility in preparing the auction. You can offer advice on picture taking, descriptions, and ensuring that the auction ends at a favorable time. Many times on SB in my area, the auctions end on weird times because everything is PST. There's an auction coming up that ends 3 a.m. local time because the facility put 12 a.m. rather than 12 p.m. I'll be up to see what happens, but I don't think it's to the facilities advantage to end the auction in the middle of the night. Even midnight is ridiculous.

Auctioneers tend not to, they'll say something like "Sure looks like a (insert gun model here)... but I can't tell for sure!" Managers always remove.

Other than antique or vintage upholstered furniture, I would also consider reupholstering dining room chairs if they need it. Only upholster in plain, neutral colors. It's super easy and cheap to do dining room chairs and a new covering could add a pretty penny to your potential sale.

Large generic art or home decor. Buy a large framed picture of fruit for $200.. Sell it for $20.. maybe.

The store has other advantages. Ebay charges, on average, 10% for each sale. Sometimes more depending on the category. Ebay store owners pay an average of 7-8%. Also, store owners get more free listings, which Ebay is offsetting by giving away boatloads of free listings every month. Store owners also get other marketing tools.. That being said, if you aren't listing 100-150 items a month, it's not worth it.

Yeah, I don't get why people store some things. I can understand if someone is kicked out of their home and they need a quick place to store their stuff and lose it in a few months.. but those who continue to pay on it for years and years.. baffles me.
