your local papers are your best resource. I assume you are in the Michigan city/south bend area. I do travel that way from time to time but sadly, until you get to merrillville going west or fort wayne going east you are not in a very happening spot for storage auctions.

What's it Worth?? / Re: The Motherload of Fishing Tackle / Lures

Most of the lures and spoons you have there are fairly new. However, before you sell that bag pull out the 2 that have the treble hooks attached by a screwed down metal plate instead of being attached by a imbedded ring. They are both upside down and I cant see the rest of them to judge, but in my experience that is a good sign that they are older and may be of more interest to a collector than for fishing.

no, it was in another unit on another day. The rest of the unit was mostly household furniture and nic nacs so no real clues there.

Yeah that was lucky. Call me naive but I would have never guessed it had a double purpose. Wasn't funny when it happened, but hilarious after. Just goes to show, know what you've found before you mess with it.

Stories about Storage Auctions / my craziest storage story by far

so, last year I found the flashlight pictured below in a unit. It was in a belt holster with a charger hanging out of the back of it. I plugged it in and the next morning found it to be the brightest flashlight I own, plus it didn't take batteries. Naturally it went with me a few days later to check out some units.  I'd brought along a friend to help my load up after. We got to a locker and I pass him the flashlight and tell him look in the back between a couch and dresser to see if he can read the side of a box. He grabs the flashlight and has trouble pushing the switch. He places his hand over the top, manages to flip the switch down and also press a button on the other side I had yet to notice. Suddenly there is the loud crackle of an electric arc, and my friend hits the ground like a sack of rocks. That was the moment I discovered the flashlight doubles as a stun gun. The only person that seemed unamused was the auctioneer, who thankfully let me stay when I gave him the short story of having bought the light from him at auction a few days prior. In summation, until you see a good friend hit the dirt in a cartoonish fashion, then spend the rest of the day with a bewildered look on their face like you would expect to see on someone who just **** their pants, you likely could not fathom the hearty belly laugh I had the remainder of that day.

Value put aside, does anyone know what this thing is? My first thought was a champagne cart, then maybe a cart to hold a catering tray, I just cant find anything close to it. The company seems to be gone, but I listed what is marked on it below. Nope, thats not a typo, thats how its on there.

Yup, an infant burial vault, I got one. I sure was hoping it was for a pet to make it less creepy. It even has some sort of bag of putty inside to seal the little tyke in..... Yeah... this is going to end up being a beer cooler for some weird bastard on ebay next week... so wrong.
